Highly recommended. We tend to go back every time we visit Devon. New owners but same high standards. Lots of locals at the bar, guys playing darts, and the ladies guild gathering around a large table discussing their business. The locals clearly enjoy it, we did too. Straight to mains, the Steak and Ale Pie was tasty and the meat tender and flavoursome. Various options, I went for the mash potato, as well as veg accompaniment. Both cooked well. Sweet Chilli Chicken was lovely, as was the accompanying stir fry and chips. For dessert I had the Apple and Almond Tart and that was delicious. Lemon Curd Roulade was tasty but the meringue was a bit flat and was more like a cake than a roulade. We...
Visited the Cyder Presse twice when staying in a holiday let in Weare Gifford, ate with family on a Friday evening, and also had a Sunday roast, the food was lovely and the owners are lovely to. Things I noted; lovely food, quick service, nice friendly atmosphere in the pub, friendly locals. Very relaxed place to eat, the landlady was very nice and funny, and her husband was a true gentleman.
This is one of our local pubs, a few miles' walk from home but worth every mile for the great choice of ciders, airy feel, friendly owners and plenty of seating outside in the sunshine. The village is really pretty, running alongside the river and a stone's throw from the Tarka Trail at Halfpenny Bridge. Altogether a splendid North Devon watering hole!
Both the food and service were excellent. My husband had gammon, and said it was the best he had ever had. The waitress was very friendly and asked us several times how our meals were. We will definitely visit again next time we are in this area. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
If you are looking for a pub with a nice atmosphere, really good food a cracking pint, then the Cyder Presse is perfect. Wonderful hosts who are totally committed to serving the locals guests from afar.
Just had a lovely Mother’s Day, Sunday Roast. Great food, service, and very good value for money. A very nice touch also, that all the ladies got given a candle.
1st visit very welcoming sensibly priced food well worth a visit, might have found the best steak ale pie around, and mash to die for. Will be back soon.
