We walked into The Deck Steakhouse on the boardwalk at the Mackay Marina. You order at the Kitchen counter and collect your mealwhen your Buzzer sounds, we picked a table out frontright opposite where the Harbour Tugs Berthedwith a beautiful view of the Yachts and vessels moored in the Harbour.. We ordered the Lunch special Steak chips and Salad, and Crumbed red throat emperor chips and salad. We got our wines from the well stocked Bar with Hotel prices to match right next to the kitchen sat at our table with views of all sorts of vessels it was relaxing, it was not at all busy mid week all the better to enjoy yourself. Dont expect this on weekends or holidays as its popular along this busy...
Lovely location but unremarkable, it's not a cheap pub meal, but the quality of my steak was good and it was well cooked. That's where it ends really. The jacket potato was ordinary, the crisp bacon bits on top nonexistent and the salad laughable - a small handful of chopped iceberg, some clumsily cut raw carrot and one (only) slice of tomato. The standard 4 sauces available at every pub in the country, from the same packet, thick and lumpy.One star for service because there isn't any. Go to the bar to order your food, go to the bar to collect it, go to the pub next door to get a drink, but only after you go out to the car park to get cash from the machine
I was wondering along the Marina, thinking of what to eat and I had Sea Food in my mind. That was untill I smelt the Steak cooking at the Steakhouse and I walked straight in. The Girls behind the Bar were most helpfull and with no time at all I had the Very Juicy Steak on my plate with a Ice cold beer in my Hand. So very comforting to get ones of "Those" meals that were so simple but Just great and 'Just what the Doctor Ordered.
Celebrated lunch with a group of friends at The Deck. Lots of variety to choose from, relaxed atmosphere with a view. Lunch specials are good value. Food is well presented and tasty. The Deck handled our group beautifully with all meals coming out together. One can also order from the Sails Sports Bar menu, which includes wood fire pizzas and eat these meals in the Deck. All in all a recommended place to lunch at.

The Deck is a nicely situated steakhouse on the mackay marina. The menu options always cause hesitation when ordering as there are many good choices to select from. I've had some fantastic meals there but also some horrible ones - it's very hit and miss. Sundays have a nice vibe with Sail Bar next door having live music. I think the location makes the overall experience worth the trip.
High priced food at a beautiful location. When paying over $50 for a steak the last thing you would expect is to line up to order food then line up again at the bar to order a drink followed with a trip back to where you ordered the food to collect it and after all the exercise its just a steak... nothing special...
Both my partner and I ordered steaks. Both were cooked to perfection. Normally my steak is too rare or overcooked, but neither of us had anything to complain about. Mine came with a baked potato and salad. This was yum too!The atmosphere here was amazing (on a Sunday) with a live band playing.
It is nice to seat outside. The food was excellent and well presented on the plate. The staff was very friendly and help full. It was very busy, but we didn't wait very long. A life band was playing music, it was a bit loud, we couldn't have any conversation,

Well cooked steak and good service. Friendly staff and eager to please. Good atmosphere . I had a bad knee and the staff carried my dinner over to my table. This is the third time I have eaten here and the location is also spot on.
Last time we went it was spectacular i couldnt wait to go back! What a disappointmet. My fish was over cooked and ordinary and my partners steak was very overcooked. The produce is still excellent just not cooked well
