The Den Bar Grill in the Bear Trap Dunes clubhouse was cozy, and comfy. It had a modern feel, as did the whole clubhouse, and it was very clean. The service could have been better, but we have to give the staff a break like a Kit Kat bar because we rolled in guns blazing with 14 hungry grown men. When the food finally arrived, it was made to order and delicious however, multiple mistakes were made. 30 minutes after we ordered, the server let my brother know that they didn't have any Spicy Chicken Lettuce Wraps. They didn't even have cucumbers or mashed potatoes, very odd. This was very inconvenient because they waited a total of 1,800 seconds way too many seconds passed before they informed...
Week of 4th of July. Taking the family out to a nice dinner at one of the few restaurants that take reservations. We 're happy. And then the nice dinner goes awry quicker than a New York minute. Daughter ordered steak. Grandsons ordered ribs. Husband ordered tuna melt with Cole slaw. So easy! Daughter is told no steak , grandsons are told no ribs . There are 4 entrees on the menu 2 were not available. Daughter ordered Asian salad with salmon, no chicken please. Nope, if you order an Asian salad, you MUST have chicken. Ok, she orders a mushroom burger. Husband 's tuna melt arrived, much later than the other orders, on a cold English muffin with a slice of American cheese cold, not melted hell...
Have been there for lunch twice and I'm literally across the street from the clubhouse. Beautiful view of the golf course depending where you are sitting in the dining room. I had a cobb salad with grilled chicken and a glass of wine it was very good. The issue is it's way overpriced for what you get. There are other restaurants in the area where the food is better and not as pricey. You are paying for the clubhouse location, I'm sure that's why they were very few people in the restaurant at lunchtime. They have Bingo one night a week at the clubhouse and all I can say is stay away, we walked in for dinner and the dirty looks were quite haunting. These bingo lifers don't want anyone invading...
Had an ok lunch when we first got to town. Decided to go for dinner but wasn 't even seated. We walked into a restaurant with several empty tables and asked for a table of 4. The two younger hostesses looked at the seating chart then their watches....then the chart...then their watches (repeat repeat repeat) for about 10 minutes before being told they were full for the night. We had arrived at 5:40 and the chart said the tables had a 7:00 reservation apparently not enough time for a family with two small kids. My bet is they just couldn 't do the clock math . We ordered the nachos as a starter. They were served burnt to a crisp with a smile. Now I don't blame the waitress but I do hold the kitchen staff responsible for thinking it was okay to serve. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Alfredo for my entree. It was served on a dinner plate but the portion was the size of a side order. For the amount of they charged it was not worth it. It tasted great but was not portioned well. My sons pizza was also too well done but my wife's BLD Club Sandwich and daughters Cesar Salad were both enjoyed. Overall this is a mediocre restaurant with a sweet wait staff.
Fantastic dinner at Costal Kitchen (new name for The Grill at Bear Trap). New chef and menu. Enjoyed the sea scallops, corn and crab salad and peach cobbler. Great ambiance on the screened in porch. A plus that they take reservations and accommodate groups.
This restaurant and bar is a great spot for lunch or dinner. Wonderful food, friendly bartenders and music on Friday nights throughout most of the year! Good for small or large groups. Reservations accepted
I just got a cheese pizza and it was filled to the brim with spices making it super spicy and not taste good. The only thing keeping it at a two star is the customer support. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
