My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay for one night while visiting family, and I chose The Dorset because of its convenient parking and reasonable prices. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the low cost of the car park (we only had to pay until Monday morning). The staff were very helpful, showing us to our room and how to access it from the back door. The room was clean and comfortable, with a well-appointed bathroom stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries. The bed was a bit firm, but we still managed to get a good night's sleep. We made a reservation for Sunday lunch at this restaurant, expecting a traditional roast dinner like we used to enjoy before lockdowns. However, upon arrival, we were informed that they had stopped serving roasts two weeks prior, but would be offering them again in October. The current Sunday menu mainly featured burgers and chips, which was not what we had in mind for our meal. I decided to instead have a starter and dessert. The cod goujons with tartare sauce starter was underwhelming, with the sauce lacking flavor but the batter on the goujons being crispy and delicious. Wonderful place, excellent happy service. Efficient and friendly. I found the place on a hotel site as everything else seemed well over priced, the Dorset was and I’m so glad it was as had it been the same as premier and travelodge I probably...wouldn’t have gone there. I was staying one night for business, check in was nice and easy, the landlord was very helpful and showed me the room, small but everything I needed. The food was yummy, I can recommend the Dorset burger. The young lady on the bar was again friendly, happy and great service. My friend and I stayed at the Dorset for night. We were greeted by the staff who were polite and helpful, they were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend to friends and family to visit or stay there.The rooms...were clean and tidy anything we needed could ask the staff. My friend and I chose food from the menu and it was really good. Went away satisfied and with a full tummy. . Staff are lovely helpful, chatty and friendly, was lovely to stay in a happy place. The staff need to be praised for their hard work and making us feel welcomed and comfortable.

We stayed at the Dorset this weekend for a lovely little break get away. The staff were so helpful and welcoming and the rooms were clean spacious and lovely . The bar has a superb selection of drinks and the Sunday roast we had there...was amazing . The people that run the Dorset were very nice and more than happy to tell us some locations to visit whilst we were in the area. Great time had by all .

The Dorset Inn has had a makeover since I was last there and it looks really good. We popped in for lunch and cannot regret this. A fabulous beef stew with lovely warm crusty bread. Absolute mouthwatering. My friend also enjoyed the Camembert with the...same type of bread. Just right for a day wandering around the town. We won’t take so long to visit again.

The food was beautifully presented and the flavors were exceptional. The staff were attentive, although a few seemed dismissive. The local beer was fantastic and the bar was clean and tidy. Tables were promptly cleared and the garden was well-maintained. Definitely worth a visit.

Stayed on a Saturday night and there was a great feel to the pub! Adam and his staff are doing a great job of making the place COVID friendly and the rooms are well decorated and very spacious! Great stay!

Had a drink here on a Sunday night. Very civilised and stayed open a bit longer than the pubs around it.
