I've been to wetherspoons in the last few years. my expectations were fairly low, but on the proposal of my daughter we went to the spoons in a leather head. in for a penny, we decided to dinner there as, so we arrived on a weekday evening and the place was pretty busy. a nice mix of groups of friends, lonely drinker read the time, groups of workers, etc. I think I expected a small nest of alcoholics, but that was not the case at all. Anyway, I fired the spoon app, just placed the order and paid and hey presto the drinks arrived within a few minutes. the staff was also very friendly. the edmind tylney is a typical high street wetherspoons that it obviously uses as woolworths store. I visited the breakfast, as I stayed on the street in the travelodge, which has no restaurant (and its breakfast is best avoided). both. in lederkopf advised to discover that our ordinary caffe was closed, so we thought we would give wetherspoons a chance! an experience that will never be repeated! dark, dark pub with sticky tables. we ordered the QR code....easy breakfast, breakfast buffet and touch toast. The...fast muffin was very inspiring, but at least edible. the rührei was not. on a wet plate made for sloppy brot, barely cooked white toast served and the eggs were served with added egg dish incredible. the coffee that was not unpleasant is di by a machine. the embarrassing waitress offered us a refund, but for the price, we could not be disturbed openly! thinks we wait until our ordinary caffe reappears!
This pub group is recognisable by its worn out carpets, distressed paintwork and an overall air of seediness. Its plus side for us is the continued concentration in a wide choice on the menu, the value for money and its service is a good standard....As it is the first visit to a pub since before lock down, they have really worked at decreasing the virus risk, at the expense of the bureaucracy involved in ordering a meal. The app is all important, download is needed to order food and drink. It works, but somehow my enthusiasm receded, only mitigated by the food appearing 5 minutes after ordering. I have been a Wetherspoon fan for years and I have never been to one were the manager was so ignorant and racist I came with guys from work and unfortunately 1 only had his I’d on his phone which I understand but as a...site manager on the scheme I’m working on I did try to explain and verify the lad but unfortunately she didn’t want to listen I find it sad the lad was of a different ethnic and if any wanted to take this up with me I will gladly come back again for a discussion and what I will say this as no reflection on your staff they were excellent
After a long drive to the leather head we came here for a fast drink, fast service, clean and family friendly, as well as we later returned to dinner, eating and drinks came fast, friendly service, only after all the food was not as hot as...we would still like to have delicious and good value for money, would definitely return. beautiful atmosphere.
Every 2/ 3 months I travel from Croydon to enjoy lunch with friends who live in this lovely, quiet town. It's worth the easy train journey every time and today was no exception. We arrived at 12noon, bagged a table and ordered lunch and drinks....we were served by manager/ waitress Charlie who was courteous, charming , and totally professional.
Went to spoons on tues 8th dec ordered a chicken tikka masala and a carling on the app the app didn't work 3 times so we got the table service . Typical Wetherspoons, but some of the staff are rude especially a lady named Tara. No customer service or friendly service at all, she needs to learn some manners!
