Have to say we were highly disappointed. After seeing good reviews and the place being recommended to us, I saw the homemade pie served in a dish with the puff pastry lid and mixed seasonal veg we just had to try. Well, I was served only green beans as the seasonal veg, a small portion of chips in some sort of metal pen pot what looked to be a Peter’s pie. Don’t get me wrong, I’m partial to a peters pie but not for more than £1. I asked if the pie was homemade or bought in the waitress said it was homemade. I guess the chef thinks like my husband, he says he’s cooked a lasagna after he’s warmed it in the oven. The starters were umm “ok”, similar to man of Gwent so we did expect a little more...

Firstly come the run of the mill coffee and bland tea. (Prob smart price) £2 for a good jar at aldi. Then came plate of small rectangle sandwiches with crusts cut off, half full of sandwich fillers to share for three adults. (What a let down) followed by bowls of mixed crisps with jugs of very cheap tasting squash. Kids didnt like because they were mixed. This pub is the BEST. Hands down best pub food about especially the roast dinner!!!! The staff are lovely, always make you feel at home and super friendly. And can bring your doggy so makes it perfect for a stop in at any time. Also they put on theme nights which are BRILLIANT!!
Steak was poor and took so long I think they raised the cow to an adult killed it and served it burned on the outside raw inside not what I asked for and it was supposed to be a 25 poumd peace Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Fab hostess and a different take on afternoon tea. Unfortunately we were the only ones there on a Thursday afternoon so atmosphere was a bit flat.

Lovely family run pub, the food is outstanding. The staff are friendly helpful and attentive.
