First thing you'll notice when you visit The Fat Boar is the staff, who are friendly and seem eager to make your stay an enjoyable one. The inside is well decorated, and there's outside seating too, including a new construction of covered booths that provide ventilation but also have TVs, and heaters and blankets if it gets cold. Loved these (although better suited for drinks than food, as the tables are a bit too low to eat off). There are decent wine and cocktail menus, and a small but select choice of draught beers/ciders/ales on tap. And then the food. It's a pub, so it's pub food. Just had what looked like a lovely roast gammon dinner…. Very disappointing gammon was more like wafer thin ham and the roast potatoes had just been shown the oven. Sauce on the cauliflower cheese was not homemade and lacked the taste of cheese. Topped off with being made to feel uncomfortable by the new manager when I offered my feedback.
served 3 separate cold frying dinners successively along the side of “Cauliflower cheese”, the cauliflower in water. the image is exactly how it was served. no apologies, and we were quickly taken out of the door to go. friendly customer service.

I liked it but my parters steak was tough even though it was fillet he didn’t eat it . Which spoilt it for me .
