The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, a great starting point for any chip. The crumbed whiting in the beach box was overly salty compared to the rest of the dish, which was well-seasoned. The calamari was tender and not too tough. The seafood stick was imitation crab, and the prawn cutlets were decent but nothing extraordinary. The salad had a tangy and flavorful taste, but was average overall. The battered cod and sea perch were fine, with a good level of seasoning and texture.
Went here with my fiance for an early takeaway dinner by the beach and we definitely weren't disappointed! The service was good and quick and the food was amazing! Just as good as all the reviews say. We weren't overly hungry and shared the seafood box for one and it was just enough for both of us. Everything was super tasty and the battered fish wasn't oily which was lovely.
OMG!!! Such an amazing feed of fish and chips! Had the snapper and Spanish mackerel, beer battered with chips and Greek salad. Fish was perfectly cooked, chips were crunchy and huge! With nice flakey salt to go. An excellent place for a great feed, highly recommend, don’t often post reviews but simply had to as it can be difficult to find a great fish n chip shop, well done!
From the photo above, it's changed hands and the standard of food is now 150% better. Excellent value, sells beer (Indonesian Bintang for $5!!!). $19.50 for a seafood platter was more than enough for us two.Brilliant service. There are a number of fish and chip shops in Burleigh but this is the best.

My partner was thrilled to find gluten-free fish and chips at Red Hot Cod while we were passing by. The grilled fish was absolutely delicious and the perfectly cooked chips were a real treat. We will definitely stop by here again when we are in the area.
The portions are generous and the fish and chips are always fresh. The combination of a seafood box and a fish fillet would easily satisfy two hungry adults. Even just a seafood box alone would be enough for two adults who are not extremely hungry.
5 stars where 5 stars are due beautiful fish chips with a nice sea breeze coming in from across the road excellent customer service and very clean establishment even the $5 snack box is a bargain and filling.
Really good fish and chips to eat under the trees across the road at Burleigh Beach. So relaxing and a great family activity.

Great spot near the water for all manner of fish and chips. I got the fried perch and my wife the grilled salmon.
This place has awesome fish n chips. Fresh, well cooked and not greasy.
