Visited, based on recommendation from one of its sister pubs (The Bears Paw). Looks very nice from approach and inside and very comfortable seats offered. Menu looked very nice and proved difficult to decide. Starters: I went for the Ox Cheek, which I 've had elewhere and usually proves delicious. Unfortunately, although it turned up promptly and looking nicely presented, it proved to be 75% jelatanous fat, which, of course, is very disappointing given the price of starters alone (photo attached). A bit of a mixed bag for us actaully. Have driven past this place time and time again and thought we must try it as we've heard good things. We managed to get a last minute table, website said fully booked but i called and got a table so always worth a call fyi. So we went for sunday lunch we were greeted and seated very quickly, our server took drinks orders immediately and we perused the menu. Family get together for a celebration meal. Very satisfied with the service and food. I chose the Asian Beef Salad which was excellent. Vthe beef was delicious as was the vegetables and sauce. No complaints from the rest of the party who enjoyed their various different dishes. Very friendly service with a wide variety of dishes on the extensive menu. The only let down was the heater blowing out under my seat which was only controlled by a large beer. I would certainly visit again.
Amazing atmosphere and decorations. We sat next to the fireplace and the whole dinning-out was very cosy. The service was very fast and professional. The food was also great. I had a parsnip soup which was a bit small, but very tasty. For main I had a steak burger with blue cheese, made with all fresh ingredients and served very pretty. This place is also dog friendly but there are areas where dogs are not allowed, so it's great for everyone. Will be back for sure.

Arrived quite early for our reservation but were able to be seated immediately. Our server Vicky was very pleasant and helpful. Food was very tasty and we all enjoyed our meals. Few of the chairs are rather tatty and torn but this was the only negative of our visit.
I think the fact I've visited this restaurant multiple times a year for the last several years speaks for itself! Never revisited a restaurant as many times as I have the Fishpool, and never ever had a bad experience. Can always guarantee quality tasty food!
We made a detour en route home from a weekend away to have Sunday Lunch at the Fishpool Inn. The food was incredible, as was our waiter, Craig. He was super attentive, going above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. 100% recommend visiting.
