Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right! I called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas. I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I have been to the flat before, and I absolutely love it. The flavours of the pizzas are so well put together. Sadly on one occasion, I ordered a kids size pizza for myself as a takeaway (I live alone and with an eating disorder, so therefore, for me, it seems silly for me to buy a pizza I can’t finish). I was judged and made to feel like a terrible person for ordering a small pizza for one person/adult. I will not eat a whole pizza to myself, and have a complex about throwing food away, and wasting money. Booked here to try the gluten free pizzas. I am coeliac and made the decision that because the pizzas are prepared separately and cooked on their own tray, this was good enough for me to feel safe. Although, I called beforehand and the man on the phone wasn’t particularly reassuring and was a bit dismissive. We went anyway and I wasn’t asked any questions about my gluten free order or given reassurance at the time of order that it would be cooked separately. Honestly the best pizza restaurant in Exeter! It’s really great to see a pizza restaurant not just serving all the usual toppings, with their menu offering lots of different combinations that work so well! I highly recommend the garlicky or calzone. Somehow they make aubergine and courgettes on a pizza work! Everything on their menu can also be made vegan their vegan Parmesan is incredible! The team are incredibly welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxed and rustic, making it a place my friends and family visit on a regular basis. We saw the reviews on trip advisor and thought it deserved a look. We found it quite easily and although we didn't have a booking, they fitted us in. My partner and I had a pizza each, the Smoky and the Spicy, both exceptional. The Gilt and Flint Pale Ale, an organic beer was amazing. The wine selection whilst not extensive was quality. The vegan milkshakes were awesome. I would definitely recommend it. Accomodating and friendly staff and a good atmosphere. And very reasonably priced.
By far our favourite place to eat in Exeter. Everything is done so well in a relaxed and chilled environment. Delicious pizza’s (the best) always a lovely drop of vino and the team are absolutely fabulous!
Beautiful pizza and desserts. Would recommend to all. As a vegetarian as well it is just great to see a place like this doing everything so right. Quick, friendly service and nice atmosphere.
