Food foundry follows the concept of food court where you came into the store and offered with choices from many different vendor. This works when you came in big group so people can choose what they like. Anyway, I’m going to do mini rating per vendor that I’ve tried. Japanese’s ramen: I will rate it 3 out of 5 star. The price is definitely cheap (especially compared to the other vendor, the ramen here averages about $10. The portion is reasonable. However, the taste is rather average. The pork flavour in the broth is too strong. Caribbean’s lamb and fish: I will rate it 2.5 out of 5 star. For a $28 meal, I want to say that it is definitely overprice. Only launching their high tea a couple of weeks ago we were asked to come in and be there first to try it and give some feedback. I’m going to say that this high tea is asian inspired and quite different from the usual kind. The have little quiches (were bit dry) but still tasted ok, they had mini bar buns which were a bit difficult to eat as the you took a bit everything just wanted to fall out. And because the serving platter is curved they had put some sauce on the bottom of some things and made it a bit soggy. They also had mini matcha scones which were ok, but a bit dry but were good with the cream and jam. They also had some interesting flavoured desserts some very strong flavours...
Got the KC showcase takeaway, $28 meal for 2. Very reasonable considering the goat curry on its own is $24! I went for goat curry and grilled fish with coconut rice and perfumed rice and ginger and lemon sauce. Beautiful service from the girl behind the counter and even more so from the lovely owner/chef. I can't wait to come back. Only downside was no watermelon cake left, and the girl not knowing what the cake on display was. She did try to text someone to find out though, was probably for the best I didn't get it! The place was empty, we were the only customers so it made me feel a bit on edge. The service was kinda non existent. Took a while for our orders and 20 minutes to get our drinks. I was dying to try the watermelon cake but they didn't have any ???????????? We also tried to order matcha lattes and they didn't have that either ???? I had the Dan Dan noodles and they were good, good size and filling. My friend had a botik and said it was good too. Overall food was good although the service and unavailability of menu items was disappointing ☹️
Came in whilst already in Vic park. Was keen to come in due to the instagram pics of this place! Came with friends to try the watermelon cake, which I have tried in Sydney's famous Black star pastry. It was a bit too pricey for $8.5 for a little piece. The popping candy on top of the cake was interesting addition. Would prefer if there was a biscuity layer in addition to the watermelon and sponge cake. Would come here again because the service was good and lunch options were available.
Had a lunch here, randomly, with friends weeks ago. Didn't know what particular cuisine they served when we flipped through the menu, as there are Japanese, Chinese and western item, until we finished paying everything and saw the standing board near the entrance. The food, in overall, was good and can be better. Should have tried other stuff next time though. But their customer service is definitely is awesome!! :)
The staff was really friendly and attentive. It was very quiet as we went on a Wednesday night but still a great vibe. The food was great and I love the idea of the changing menu/chefs. I had a Japanese pork belly noodle dish, and this Caribbean burrito thing (don't remember its actual name) with a peppermint tea, flavours and presentation were on point. We went there for high tea today. The food foundry recently make afternoon tea on weekends and the presentations are super cute! My friend and I really enjoyed their Easter special hightea! I will come back to try other foods next time!
