We had a delightful dinner last night. The food was fantastic, and the two servers, who were both girls, were extremely welcoming and accommodating. I requested a dish that was not on the menu, and they had no issue preparing it for me. The portion sizes were very generous, and I ended up taking some leftovers home, which they were happy to provide. The bill was also lower than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was lovely, and we will definitely be returning in the future.
From the friendly welcome to the delicious food, our experience at Food Lodge was top-notch. Recommended by locals, this restaurant did not disappoint. The service was friendly and efficient, and our food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. We left with smiles on our faces and will definitely be back.
Ordered a take away of special chow mein and special kung po sauce. The kung po was ok but the chow mein was awful. It was tasteless and really lacked seasoning. I found it inedible and sadly it went in the bin. Luckily we were only passing through Penicuik so we won’t ever be ordering from there again.
On holidays from Australia and was recommended here by a local couple we met in the Royal Hotel in Penecuik. We had a really lovely meal and was helped by the two lovely ladies who looked after us. We had the pork with mushroom and oyster sauce and a yeung chow fried rice. Would recommend Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Chow mein was very tasteless, minimal flavour. Chicken satay was delicious! Slightly spicy but really nice. Cantonese style sweet and sour chicken was lovely. Overall a nice Chinese but shame about the noodles!
Place is freezing, radiator sitting there but not on. Staff walking around in body warmer! Staff inappropriate towards customers. Some food average but chicken is slimy so avoid.
The staff at this restaurant were extremely impolite. Their condescending attitude towards us was truly unbelievable. However, I must admit that the food was exceptional!

Best Chinese meal in the area. I never leave a grain of rice on my plate.
