So happy to see this local raise their game over the past few years. Service was a bit of a blind spot for one reason or another but on our last visits during and since covid they have been great. The food is reliably good expect c.£40 45 per head for a starter/main and one drink, and the interior has a lovely old vibe. The tables, in the back room, replaced or painted during covid let the place down a little having a slightly tacky feel. Its such a great place for a walk on the common followed by some good food. Thank you for an enjoyable meal with great service.
We love the Fox and Grapes as it’s our local. The staff are always fab, yesterdays fish wasn’t great, but they were quick to help and then to adjust the bill. Mostly the food is excellent and the staff always are! Would definitely recommend it.
The food was very good. There was an intriguing range of mains, which would be of interest to most pallets. The service was good, perhaps a bit over attentive at times. A very good wine list.
