This restaurant is somewhat hidden behind other shops in a small mall. The menu is extensive and the food is well-prepared, which is a plus. However, it’s disappointing that this restaurant, which aims for an upscale vibe, serves its dishes in cardboard boxes and coffee in paper cups instead of using china. The coffee is dispensed from thermal containers and tends to be lukewarm and stale by mid-morning (around 10:30 am). Given the prices, they should definitely offer proper plates and cups. Additionally, they charge a 3.5% fee on credit card payments without clearly disclosing this beforehand, and they expect tips for services that aren’t really deserving of them, similar to fast food estab...
I am really disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I ordered a sandwich that contained pesto, and shortly after eating it, I began to feel a tingling sensation in my throat and my tongue started to hurt. It felt similar to an allergic reaction, but when we asked the staff if the pesto had any nuts in it, they assured us it didn't. This suggests that there was something else wrong with the pesto; perhaps it was spoiled, since I also experienced severe stomach pain afterward. Unfortunately, I ended up getting sick later and had to run to the bathroom. I cannot recommend this place to anyone if they can't even manage to serve safe, fresh food.
Can't rate the food or atmosphere because we never got to eat there. We walk in, stand at the counter waiting for the girl behind the counter to take our order but she doesn't. What happens is some lady walks up to the counter and starts ordering her food. She just walked right up, didn't see us standing right there, grabs a menu and starts ordering! Unbelievable. Unbelievable that the girl behind the counter didn't even she us standing right in front of her and asks that lady if she can take her order! Cannot recommend such a place with such terrible service!! Service doesn't even deserve 1 star!!
Upon entering, I was greeted by friendly staff. I could have been assisted immediately, but I mentioned that I needed a moment to look over the menu. Eventually, I ordered a sandwich, which was prepared quite quickly. I settled down at a table in the back and didn’t have to wait long for my meal.
The sandwich featured both Brie and a type of jelly, and I found it to be very tasty. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at the French Market, and if I happen to be in the area again, I would definitely stop by.

The pistachio croissant is A . I’ve been searching for one locally ever since a trip to Italy and I finally found a place that lives up to my beloved Positano croissant. Can’t wait to keep coming back for more!The parmesan-leek and strawberry croissants were excellent, too.
We're regular customers at the Rumson location but it's a bit far for us. We found out recently there is a new location and we gave it a visit. Never disappoint. Fresh bread, pastry and there sandwiches are amazing. I just wish they have a bigger outdoors seating area.
