We had an absolutely first-class experience. My wife is a big fan of afternoon tea, and we tried several places in the Lake District, including The Belsfield Hotel and The Inn on the Lake. I can confidently say this was the best afternoon tea we had. The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived, starting with ice-cold lemon water. The staff took the time to explain and describe the ingredients in each sandwich and cake, highlighting one particular cake that cleanses the palate. The food was a delightful treat—truly top-notch. The friendly staff made us feel very welcome, and we will definitely return. Excellent all around!
I visited on opening night and was truly impressed by the transformation. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated, creating a captivating environment. The quality of the food is outstanding and incredibly delicious. It's definitely worth a visit for lunch or an afternoon outing. I will certainly be back!
I had a wonderful afternoon at this restaurant, which I would personally consider the best in England. A friend of mine also enjoyed a meal from the lunch menu, and everything was perfect. The service was top-notch, earning a solid five stars, and I highly recommend this place for its stunning atmosphere.
Amazing! What a beautiful setting for an incredible experience at the Gaddum. The afternoon tea was fabulous, hats off to the pâtissier and the service on another level. Sourcing local food, wines and unique teas for the Gaddum really makes this experience something else... we will most certainly be back.

Wow!! We’ve just had lunch here today and it was an incredible experience! The food was out of this world, whilst dining in a relaxing atmosphere with our little girls. We’ll definitely be back and recommending to all of our friends.
