the generals grill is a relatiw new place. from outside it looks at attraction but they decided to keep a table of four very close to the door, there is no one to welcome them, they need to go to them that was our experience was not busy at all, except there was a very large family of more than 10. we were down and given plates and cut in together with the menus a minute or two later. 2-3 minutes must have pastness and the waitress comes to ask if we are ready? we haven't settled long ago. we finally ordered the special plate of the cook for 2-3 to share with £20 along with a proton of chips that I believe to share £2,50 and some drinks. it followed exactly the broth that was hard and not so...
I recently dined at The Generals Shish with a friend on Sunday 09/07/23 and it was a fantastic experience! The restaurant was exceptionally clean and the owner, known as 'the General', was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering suggestions and assisting me in selecting dishes. The food was absolutely delicious - the Lahmacun reminded me of my trips to Turkey and the Beity chicken was flavorful. Not only was the food outstanding, but it was also very reasonably priced (much cheaper than similar restaurants in Ipswich). The General is a lovely restaurant located in a quiet area of Essex. I stumbled upon it while on a business trip and now make it a point to visit every time I am in the area. They serve delicious Doner Kebab on a wooden plate with flavorful chicken and rice, topped off with freshly chopped lemon and onions. I always pair my meal with a refreshing glass of orange juice with ice. The food is simple yet presented with elegance. The manager is friendly and welcoming, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I have already suggested The General to a few friends - it's definitely worth a visit.
A brilliant evening, wonderful food and staff, General came and greeted us while at the table and spoke with passion for the food, he set a high standard by the way he spoke, once the food arrived we were not disappointed the food was divine. General was not wrong and could tell all the staff work with the same passion. Everyone who was dining seemed very happy and the atmosphere here is joyous. We will certainly be returning to this venue.
On 22nd June 2023 students and staff from Horizons department of Barking Dagenham College had a first class lunch at the Generals Shish. We had a Chicken and Lamb Platter, and the Generals own special platter. The food was wonderful, full of flavour fantastic, enjoyed by all. The General and his men looked after us all and threw in some chips for free. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts we will be back!
really nice eating, extremely friendly owners and hard work. constructive critique can serve the waitress/witter to serve their own surface. so they will know who is ordered for food and drink. really fresh food, well prepared and presented. good atmosphere here. very recommended! Please be patient when they are busy. that is worth eating.
had a very pleasant eating with my family. the general aka owner was on the hand which is always good to see. he and his employees have offered excellent customer services in all areas. I would recommend a visit in this place if they are located in the local area. prices were also very reasonable what was an additional bonus.
The owner provided excellent service, the food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long. We ordered the mixed grill platter and it was definitely worth it. The staff was very conscientious and the price matched the quality of the food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food is amazeballs!!!!! The bread and yoghurt dip keep us spending afternoons there and the awesome craft beer selection.
