Two friends invited me to join them at this restaurant, which none of us had visited before. They had heard about it from someone else and, being fans of Ethiopian cuisine, were eager to give it a try. I was a bit hesitant to try a new type of food since I'm not very adventurous, but I decided to go along. We went for dinner on a Thursday evening around 7:30pm. Upon arrival, we were informed that the restaurant was only serving vegan meals due to the fasting period, and they did not have an alcohol license, but we could bring our own for a small corkage fee (luckily there was a liquor store across the street where we quickly purchased some drinks). The food at this restaurant is always amazing, thanks to the talented chef Genet. I always order the mixed vegetarian dish and it never disappoints. I've tried Ethiopian food at other places, but none compare. The portions are large, prices are fair, and I appreciate the welcoming family-like atmosphere. The staff, including the kids, and regulars are very friendly. You might even learn about Ethiopian pop music if the TV is on the music channel. Normally I don't like TVs in restaurants, but watching Ethiopian channels adds to the cultural experience and is enjoyable.
Absolute delicious and fantastic value. The two of us were served a mixed vegetarian platter for 25.99, which you can see in the photo below. It was huge and absolutely delicious. Every part of it was unusual, flavoursome and delicious. The waiter(/cook/owner? was an absolutely delightful woman who did everything she could to help us and make us feel at home. We were the only people in there, but there should be queues out the door, it's honestly wonderful. It's BYOB as well! Couldn't recommend more highly.

We ordered the Genet sharer, which was delicious and we both ate til no more could be eaten. We were made to feel very welcome and I'd highly recommend the Genet cafe to anyone.
in the 5 times ive there it was only open once, eating is not bad, but also not great, the customer service is terrible and that is all I have to say

Genet is charming and the food is incredible. In my opinion, it is the top Ethiopian restaurant in London!
