Just been to Wetherspoons at Sandbach,Cheshire. We are aware it will never be a la'carte, but we had a classic steak and baked potato, at 6.99. Just a dry baked potato and a sirloin steak. I wanted sauce as an extra, but that was unavailable. We know the price is cheap but the meal was not edible, steak was rubbery. It might be better to spend a bit more and go elsewhere for a decent meal. Won't be going again. The waiter asked us what we thought, we told him but it did not make a difference. The attached photo shows how much was left on my plate. We should not have wasted our money!!
Went in for a late lunch, had to move dirty plates ect onto another dirty table so we could sit down and has to wipe it down myself. Then went to order and was told there was no fish available. Then had to find alternatives and ordered , but staff was more interested in moaning to a colleague about being asked to work. I had the lemon and herb chicken and spicy rice , then best thing was the coleslaw , chicken ok but rice dry and concealed. Drinks good value but food a waste of time, recent visits have not been as good as they used to be and after today I won't bother again.
I often take my staff here for breakfast and have visited many times. The breakfasts are big, good quality sausage and bacon and cooked perfectly. I sometimes pop in for lunch, the curries and gammon, chips and egg are excellent. Is it Michelin star, no but at prices like a fiver for a breakfast and Severn pounds for curry or gammon meal it’s outstanding value. The toilets are modern and spotless. The surroundings inside are modern and well maintained, the hot drinks are refillable and the staff are excellent
visited tonight as a family treat, ordered two fish and chips and one ham and chips, the portions were laughable, the fish was as flat as a pancake, and each plate averaged about 10 chips, the hame was inedible and rubbery, the best thing about the whole meal was the tartar sauce and that came in a sachet, ordered pancakes for desert and it was like eating two pieces of rubber would not recommend, really disappointed

Terrible. The food, cleanliness and general decor of the pub has been regressing for some time. The pub is dirty, food all over the floor, tables not cleared or cleaned, slow service, cold food, items continually missing from the menu. As a regular customer I can state the above with some experience. Even in a cheap and cheerful establishments it is not too much to expect a modicum of quality.
Me and my friend Went here today I had the fried buttermilk chicken burger which was cooked perfectly and the chips too my other friend had the same and my other friend had the beef burger with special sauce which was cooked perfectly too we all had Pepsi Max Cherry which was amazing we had table 29 the staff are very friendly and helpful will come back
Ordered 2 steaks. Medium. Both arrived overcooked and seemed like they hadn't been cooked to order. Chips and onion rings great. Not a great deal ultimately as we both were disappointed. The restaurant seemed busy. This was at or about 12.30 yesterday.
We had a nice meal here, good selection of vegan choices on the menu, although no vegan desserts so could do better there. The Beyond meat burger and vegan roasted veg pizza were good choices. Ordered easily at the bar and service was fine.

The food was very big standard but the prices have gone up. Beer was very good though which at least was something. I had chicken and chips with 2 small lettuce leaves and some onion. No sauce but the chicken was succulent
