Asked for a takeaway and was told I had to phone, so had a sit down meal instead, only space was outside in the cold, was not impressed with the food today at all. I usually have a take away and it’s been very nice and you can pile on the food but they now dish up food before you come so not happy about that either, paid 13.99 today just for a plate as waiter service was non existent. They said try our famous ribs so I did although it 's something I wouldn 't normally choose, I 'm glad I did they were excellent. There is a great covered outside area that overlooks the river which is beautiful. There is plenty of parking next to the pub. This was my first meal out since going vegan, and I was impressed by the amazing staff. The food was delicious, and the portions were quite generous! They really went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs.
We visit the George at least twice a month, whether it's for lunch or dinner, and we enjoy everything we order. From the carvery to the menu, the staff are always accommodating...
