The outdoor seating at this restaurant is fantastic, located on a peaceful block. Inside, the dining room and bar are cozy, with a welcoming crowd and friendly staff. Co-owner Chloe and manager Patrick greeted us like old friends and went above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. The food is delicious and the cocktails are top-notch, but what sets this restaurant apart from others in Philly is their personal touch and dedication to excellent service. They truly care about their customers and do everything to ensure you leave happy, satisfied, and maybe a little buzzed. I highly recommend trying out The Good King - you won't be disappointed! So. Good. This is one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. An eclectic cocktail list, a rotating duck special, tasteful desserts. Bottom line, the entire menu is just... chef?s kiss Cannot recommend the duck specials enough! UPDATE More than a year later, TGKT doesn?t fail to dazzle. My partner and I just visited for outdoor dining and it was a phenomenal, comfortable, fantastic experience. Food is just as great as ever, and the cocktails may be even better than ever!! It?s worth noting that we?ve also gotten their burgers for takeout numerous times now, and they?re absolutely amazing. One of my top burgers in Philly no question.
Fantastic! I loved the atmosphere?the wait staff was wonderful ?the food knocked my socks off! Excellent French bistro food that is hearty and comforting. We were not rushed?the wine selection was delicious. I?m actually going to try to contact them today to find out what their playlist is because the music was paired perfectly! So good! I can?t say enough about this place! Go, just go!
The atmosphere at this restaurant is great both inside and outside. However, the food was extremely salty. We were too polite to send it back, but considering we paid almost $30 for the duck and skate wing, we probably should have. After reading other reviews, it seems like we weren't the only ones who found the food too salty. We won't be returning to this restaurant.

The French atmosphere at this restaurant is fantastic. Chef Steven and his team provided an exceptional meal. The desserts and drinks for adults are outstanding. Excellent service from a knowledgeable staff who expertly present and describe the dishes. The patrons also enjoy great camaraderie.
every piece of our meal was excellent! the good king tavern makes French eating right. our waitress gave us great recommendations for aperitifs, who have also paired well with our desserts. 10/5 stars!
