I visited today for a belated birthday celebration with friends. We were looking forward to our lunch as it was the first trine since the first lockdown that we were able to get together for a birthday celebration. The decor here is very pleasant but...the restaurant was cold and initially we were reluctant to take off coats off. The food was acceptable but for the price point, we felt that the cheese soufflé was very small, the steaks quite thin and two were not cooked as ordered. We were offered the choice of another meal or reduction but would have preferred that they had been cooked as ordered in the first place. We had a lovely lunch yesterday at The Green Man. We had a nice walk first in the deer park nearby. Beautiful. The car park was a good size and the setting of the pub is glorious. The food was lovely and came out in...good time. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I was a bit sad though that we were told their meat delivery hadn't turned up, so there were no meat pies. I had heard their pies were so good, so this was what I was going to have! Typical! But my fish and chips were delicious and my warm chocolate brownie was scrummy. In my opinion their pudding menu and choice was the best part of the menu. Thanks so much everyone. We will return for your pies!
we are immersed in the green man, as we were in the opposite this afternoon. a nice young lady named emily, who showed us to our table, asked us how we were with a smile and the specials on the menu my man had the chicken cake with smash and kohl with much gravy in a somewhat bigger than normal gravy jug, with which he was very satisfied. I chose the fish cake with a melted cheese in the middle, surrounded by a Veloutè sauce with broom. eating was absolutely delicious and so full of popularity. if they are in the opposite, they will fall in.
We had Saturday lunch here. There were two large parties so they were pretty busy. Nevertheless it was disappointing that my hake was only luke warm. The plate should have been heated, particularly with the thin layer of sauce covering. Otherwise the fish was delicious,...and the potatoes likewise, but it would have been nice to have had a bit of veg. The portion was not particularly generous. I and men go out every month for Sunday dinner at another place, but wowsa we will be here again. we don't have 3 courses in this, but we just had! the chicken wings should die for if you are not too hungry. for a drink and wing they do not regret! the frying was delicious and they can't go to a bake out of the pub and don't have pudding they can? we needed a place when we came home, but it was worth it. so a beautiful place also and really good price x
My wife and myself have been here four or five times mostly for Sunday lunch and have to say that we have never been disappointed. The atmosphere, cleanliness and staff are second to none and, of course, the food is excellent. Today we took friends...to enjoy what we have grown to appreciate and we were very well cared for by Tara with a happy smile, if I have to complain slightly my lamb was rather tough but the others were all perfect.
Our first time to the restaurant, beautiful decor, staff friendly, a surprise for our 14yr old son who had a little crush on Candice on bake off Candice although poorly with the flu still popped down to say happy birthday- food was lovely, something...to suit everyone will definitely be returning and highly recommend.
I wanted to visit this restaurant for a long time and then the other night. the experience was fantastic! beautiful ambiente, stylish decor and a relaxed atmosphere. the service was welcoming and friendly. Lovely meal. Chicken was a highlight. Pie was described as very tasty. Cheese Soufflé to start was light and tasty. Desserts were huge and to die for. Really good wine list and all reasonably priced. It was relaxed and very good.
