We had a lovely experience at this restaurant, thanks to the friendly and helpful service provided by Stacey. The systems were well-organised, and we had pre-paid for our meal, including service. The restaurant was fully booked for an early sitting, with each course selected and ordered in advance. Drinks were paid for separately at the end of the meal. Our table was nicely decorated with Christmas crackers, creating a festive atmosphere. The food was delicious and promptly served with all the appropriate sauces. We had an absolutely wonderful meal tonight on my step sons 18th birthday. It was our first visit and we were lucky to get to sit next to the roaring fire on this cold November night. The food was absolutely delicious everyone enjoyed their meals I would really recommend saving room for desert as the Honeypot and the Creme Brulé were divine (thanks Chef Matt). The only thing to outdo the food itself was the wonderful service by the lovely Emma. She was so welcoming and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.
My family went to The Greyhound to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and our waitress was lovely. The food was outstanding. However, it was a very cold evening outside, and when we entered the restaurant, it was freezing inside. We inquired about the heating and were assured by the waitress that it was on. Many people were dining with their coats on, so we also had to keep our coats on during the meal. This is unacceptable for a dining experience.
We came to this restaurant for our Christmas work lunch and had pre-ordered our meals. We just want to say that our food was fantastic. Thanks to our chef, Adam, and our waitress, Emma, who was exceptional. Despite it being extremely busy, Emma was attentive and friendly, going above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. First time at this place. Lovely historic pub, good beer and delicious home made food. A cosy, welcoming atmosphere on a cold December evening. I had the beef roast dinner which was delicious and my partner had the rump steak which he loved. Super fresh quality ingredients superbly cooked and served by friendly staff. We shared the home made Bakewell tart for pudding which was yummy. The pub only reopened on Friday with new owners so we were impressed.
We went for Saturday lunch today as we hadn’t been to this pub for a few years. We were really pleased we did. Lovely cheerful Emma checked availability as we had not booked a table. We were shown a nice roomy table overlooking the garden. I chose the Signature burger Hubbie chose the ribeye steak, both were delicious. Emma was very attentive, cheerful helpful. We will definitely be back Emma is an asset to The Greyhound!
Lovely meal served by Daisy who always goes above and beyond. Always polite and service with a smile. Will be returning Boxing Day for our Christmas lunch. Have a great Christmas to all the staff at the Greyhound.
