The Griffin used to be a decent little pub-restaurant. These days, it's one to avoid. I visited last night for the last time. Four teenage staff chatting away behind the bar, oblivious of me waiting to order our food. I counted almost two minutes before I was acknowledged. They took my order which had a few customisations. They asked me if I'd like any drinks. Halfway through making the drinks, they asked me to remind them what I'd ordered, and they still got it wrong. Keep in mind that I'd only ordered two drinks. They were all chatting throughout and not really paying any attention to customers. When the food came, which was pretty quick to be fair, of course it was wrong. Couldn't be both...
Been here a few times and the food has always been good. I had braised steak with mash and green beans. My partner had fish and chips which is always very nice.my daughter had the fresh pizza and chips followed by ice cream. We was served by liam who I've been served by before, he always goes above and beyond and is very friendly. He is a credit to the pub. Price per person: £10–20

The service was excellent, receiving a perfect score of 5. The staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient. However, the atmosphere received a slightly lower score of 4. While the restaurant was cozy and inviting, it felt a bit crowded and noisy at times. Overall, a great dining experience with top-notch service.

The pub is well decorated with a decent selection of food and a friendly atmosphere. The toilets are clean and the price per person ranges from £20 to £30. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a rating of 5. The Steak and Ale Pie is highly recommended.
Didn't arrive until after 8pm, so too late to sample the food, but the bar is well stocked with plenty of choice. Staff were really friendly and the environment warm and comfortable. Would definitely visit again.
