At 2 o'clock on a Tuesday afternoon you get a good idea how good a pub is. The lunchtime rush had passed but the staff were as attentive as you could wish without being in your face. We pushed our luck and chose to sit at at Table 13. it was clean and dry, as were the tables around us, no debris from the earlier visitors. Tracey took our order for three Hunter's Chicken which came promptly and was ridiculously tasty. Mine got washed down with the well kept Old Speckled Hen ale, my guests enjoyed the Merlot and Chardonnay. A lovely lunch in bright surroundings for little more than £30 all in! It would be daft not to go back.
Food very good price( promo night on Weds) cheap drinks which is a bonus! Be advised......book as it gets very busy! Even though a 45min plus wait for food as they had a staff member go sick, The Chef of one did a cracking job! Plus the Bar Team done a thorough job in explaining the delay,but that didn't put me off my dining experience... they deserve praise as well! GreeneKing need to have more community sports bars like These as its bodes well for everyone!
Being part of the Greene King chain, you can expect a certain level of consistency at this restaurant. The quality of the food is excellent for the price and we have no complaints. We highly recommend the build your own burger option - it's a great deal! The service was good, with helpful staff and quick, hot food. Keep in mind that dogs are only allowed in the beer garden, but there are plenty of tables and umbrellas available.
Been coming here regularly for a few years with my family. I can honestly say we’ve never had a bad meal here , always so delicious , I thought it’s about time I wrote a review as we are regular visitors , great choice on the menus and very reasonably priced. I would like to thank Sue and her staff for the wonderful time we had at the restaurant. The pub is lovely, with good food served quickly by a dedicated team at a great price. The beer garden is fantastic. We will definitely be returning.
Limited menu but very good quality. Some interesting choice of cask ales. Good sign for the food : long waiting time despite a lot of working hands and lot of locals. Obviously the locals do like their local!
Pub could do with a Refurbishment but service is First Class !!! Greene King IPA £2.50 a pint….. and what a Fantastic Beer it is !!! Definitely worth a visit without fail.
