I had a friend visiting from out of town, summer of 2015, and we happen to be close by and thought, let's give it a try. It was a Wednesday night 2 for 1 chicken wings. I have to say, and also told the server, this was the worst chicken wings we ever had! They were small, over cooked and 6 wings to a pound! Absolutely ridiculous! I know most bars totally soak you when it comes to chicken wings, but this was crazy! I though, never again! Flash forward to summer 2016, thought let's give it another try. We visited this restaurant on Saturday evening with a couple friends. We were seated in the back of the restaurant and given a menu.The restaurant was dark and gloomy and the server matched the atmosphere!!! What a joke! Honestly I have no idea how this place stays in business. It has WE DON"T CARE written all over it!We ordered our meals and when the food came out the server asked us if she should turn some lights on! WHAT!!! why would we want to see the food anyway...Speaking of the food..... Major disappointment! The ribs were totally tasteless and cold, the burgers just the same, The Gloomy disgruntled server came by to ask about the bills and that was about it!!!!The prices are expensiv...
my husband and I have been searching for a good halibut and chips dinner since Shooters in Amherstburg stopped serving their Friday night special. On Fridays, The Hideout has Haddock and chips for $10.99 which we tried awhile back and found way too greasy. Tonight we tried the Halibut and chip special for $14.99 and it was delicious - beer battered white fish with French fries and a small serving of coleslaw. We were delighted with the amount of fish we received. Two very large breaded filets. Delicious and not greasy at all. We were stuffed when we finished.
My family and I come here atleast once a week. It's the one restaurant we can go to, knowing that we'll recieve great food and great service and come home happy and feeling closer as a family. The atmosphere and the wait staff are incredible! Always happy and nice. The food is always hot and the beer is always cold. My kids love it here, they know the staff by name and are always happy leaving which is a plus for my wife and I. Great place for a great, cheap and tasty meal no matter what time of day. All portion sizes get me full every time I go! Breakfasts is cheap, quick to make and always tastes like a homemade meal; the same goes for lunch and dinner! The staff is always friendly, the bathrooms and bar itself is always very clean!
Since my first visit to the Hideout when it first opened a few years ago, I have returned at least once and often twice a week to meet family and friends. I'm greeted with a hug by staff & Lyndsey has my beverage of choice already on the table. The service and food is excellent.
Stopped for lunch on Sunday. Restaurant was half full and service okay. We had poutine and burger. The quantity of food was good but poutine was lacking flavour and had not used cheese curds.

Amazing nachos! Happened to go in on "lady's night" and they had great drink specials, ending up staying all night. Would definitely recommend this place!
