Décor – it looks really nice visually, it’s a funky little café with fake grass on the steps out front and a hive (hence the name) shaped back drop/shelves on the bar. It was a nice place to eat and close to parking and transport.
Service – The staff were friendly and gave great service the entire time and looked after a friend who is a celiac extremely well – I do recommend this place if you can’t have gluten they were extremely precautious and attentive. Never ever eat here - Where do I start! Decor and menu are very confused! Food was probably some of the worst I've had in a while. Chewy steak, sides boring and poorly matched with odd flavour combinations. All our meals came out at different times, repeatedly needed to request simple things like water for the table. We provided the manager with some feedback and he gave our table one dessert to share amongst 4. We paid for our meal then the manager ran down the street after us saying one of our cards hadn't worked so wanted payment in the street. Absolutely love this place, staff are friendly & they know their menu so are very helpful, if your stuck for what to have. We have been there quite a few times since they have opened. We usual have steak & the lamb rack. The steak is always cooked perfectly & the red wine jus is delicious. The lamb rack I can't get enough of & the yoghurt sauce & mash potato is fabulous. You won't be disappointed if you drop in for a bite.
Last night we went to the hive cafe northbridge.nothing to say but it was absolutely ****.**** food **** service **** everything.ordered 2 black sambucas waited 15min for them then the waitress came to our table and said sorry the bottle behind the bar is a fake bottle we don't serve sambuca....what a load of ****.took 50min for the food to arrive.20 min to get tomato sauce bought to our table.service was **** never again will I go there!!!!!

Had the most amazing meal at The Hive last night NYE. Seafood was totally amazing and delicious. Couldn't fault the food and service. I haven't had such an enjoyable meal at a restaurant for a very long time. Pricing is also great. Compliments to the Chef. You must try it. Trust me, you won't regret it. Happy New Year to all.
First time dining at The Hive, but definitely not the last time! Food was absolutely amazing, generous sizing and great flavours. Service was outstanding, and the Restaurant had a nice, cosy feel about it. Looking forward to my next visit here!
Had here dinner on Saturday .. wow ... what a pork ribs with home made BBQ sauce ... all my friends were saying that their meals were also fantastic ...so good . Good job guys ... will come back again ...cheers
I ate here recently with some friends and the food was AMAZING aswel as an excellent service would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a fine dining experience.
