The Hog's Head Inn

We have just had a 2 night stay and we were disappointed after previously staying at The Pheasant Inn at Bassenthwaite. The food and service was awful we booked a table for both nights to be told on our last night there was no record of it no apology and only 1 **** table left we were guests and should have got priority we didn’t eat in there that night. Breakfast was a farce they brought my full English out while I was still eating my cornflakes the waitress just stood there so I moved my cereal out of the way and didn’t finish it coffee was cold the second morning they completely forgot about us and we had to remind them that we were there diabolical service we won’t be returning

Popped in here for food on 26 September. Ordered 2 scampi chips a wrap. The scampi was burnt, the chips were at best reheated the wrap had more sauce than chicken. The meal was disgusting. Left promptly not asked why Not even a Thanks or Goodbye. Not good when you have taken insulin need to buy a sandwich to stop a hypo.

We were ripped off when eating out for the ‘eat out to help out’. 1 adult meal, 3 kids meals and 3 soft drinks £25 would have been £50 normally?? A pint of Diet Coke £3.70 £7.40 normally?? Pure greed, no need to hike up prices for the scheme, the government were paying the 50% ????

Great Covid measures in place today and thanks to lovely staff who looked after us so well. Loved the at table service and the biggest 'small ' Sunday dinner ever!
