Today I came in for a roast with a friend after hearing all about how good a roast is at the Hollies. We walked in a went to the bar to notify we had a table booked at 1pm, we were then sat at our table (without a menu) As a new person to the Hollies I was unsure of how we went about ordering our food and drinks. After 15 minutes of waiting I decided to go up to the bar and ask how we went about ordering food and drinks, The member of staff said “Well do you know what you want” I said no sorry as we haven’t yet had a menu. This is a wonderful spot for a meal and drinks. The prices are very reasonable, and the food has consistently been excellent during our visits over the past year. We had a group reservation for 20 people, a mix of adults and children, and everything was served correctly—something we've encountered issues with at other places. The service was also commendable, with no complaints. We attended their steak night, unsure of the quality given the price, but it far surpassed our expectations. One downside is the parking; it can fill up quickly, so if you're nearby, it's wise to allow some extra time for walking there during busy periods. This is a lovely pub in my area, featuring fantastic staff and affordable food and drinks. While the atmosphere is great, the quality of the food could be improved. It feels like they prepare all their meats in batches and use them across various dishes, resulting in a similar taste for everything on the menu (for example, the lasagna tasted just like the meatballs). My parents often stay at the hotel nearby and have had positive experiences, which reflects well on this aspect of the establishment.
six of us went on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the 21st of our granddaughter. it was very welcoming and the staff was friendly and efficient. the food was good, with the choice of matching every taste. price very reasonable. small parking space, but can reserve a space for disabled, with access to the back. otherwise a step. no disabled toilet, but accessible and immaculate! thank you, hollies.
The Rooms at the Hollies Inn are really nice and have the ambience of a nice country cottage... very homely. The owner went to great lengths to try and get my Tesla charged and although the charging was aborted after about 4.8 kWh, for reasons unknown; he is really a top bloke. . I would highly recommend this pub for drinks , food and an overnight stay. Rooms: 5
