Located on the seawall of Folkestone, The Holy Pundit stands out as an unconventional curry house. Situated above The Mariner pub, this cozy and lively spot exudes a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The menu breaks away from traditional offerings, featuring Pundit Signature dishes alongside classic choices. The chef's enthusiastic recommendations were instrumental in helping us discover some truly remarkable dishes. Highlights included the outstanding onion bhajis, which are a must-try, and creatively crafted poppadoms. Unfortunately, we couldn't stick to our usual order of “Six Poppadoms Please,” which was a bit disappointing. The main courses and side dishes impressed...
The restaurant had no heating on. Although the food is very good. The service was less than rubbish. Didn't get starters some of us. We were a party of 7 pers. The waiter service was so poor. Order was all over the place. We realised the concentration was more on just eat deliveries. So having been twice now they have had the last of our money. Shame as food is quite good. Great little find at Folkestone harbour. Go straight upstairs through the pub (The Mariners) and head straight upstairs to the restaurant. Proper authentic Indian, interesting dishes, not just madras and tikka etc. (although these available too) Some extra bits and bobs thrown in for free. Bread exceptional. Fantastic food the flavours were amazing, we had poppadoms that came with some lovely flavoursome dips. The main course was a jumbo prawn curry absolutely beautiful!!!! A really good selection of items, all thoughtfully put together. Staff are so friendly and informative about there food. The food was outstanding, and the service was incredibly friendly. The chef took the time to walk us through the menu personally. This is the best Indian cuisine I've had in quite a while. We were fortunate to discover this restaurant, as it's situated above a pub and lacks prominent signage to lead you to this wonderful spot. We will definitely return!
