"I only spent time in the gardens and had a wonderful experience. It got quite hot, but we did start around noon on a weekday. I recommend purchasing an umbrella from the shop for sunny days like this. There were plenty of shaded areas and hydration stations, so it was still a memorable visit!"

We spent most of the day at this remarkable property. The gardens are just jaw dropping, particularly the Chinese and Japanese gardens. The rose garden was in full bloom and stunning. The children’s garden was charming. Other high points were the galleries and library. The European artist gallery is in the Huntington residence and you get to see how the home was furnished as well as tour the many rooms of European painting from the 1700s to present day. American art is housed in modern gallery and covers all the arts including a terrific quilt collection, paintings and decorative art. The dining table and chairs designed by FLW was a delight. One area that should not be missed is the Library...

Absolutely love this place. Well organized, exquisitely maintained, and there's always something being added, repaired, or improved. The staff are always friendly and patient when I interact with them and it's never too busy to feel like you're unwelcome.Perfect for family walks, taking your grandparents to get some exercise, afternoon tea, a picnic, or just relaxing on the grass to get some sun. The food can be pricey but the Chinese garden restaurant has some great options. The BBQ jackfruit vegan sandwich and the noodles are highly recommended.Make sure to make an appointment in advance if you want to visit during high-traffic periods.

While there, we managed to visit two galleries: the library and the American art gallery. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable, and there were some fascinating exhibits to see. For lunch, we dined at the 1919 Café and I highly recommend the shrimp aguachile. The food was excellent with plenty of options, though it was a bit on the pricey side. We also enjoyed browsing their thoughtfully curated gift shop, where it was hard to choose what to buy! Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Huntington and highly recommend it to others. We decided to visit during a stay in Glendale. It was a about 30 minute drive from Glendale. The botanical garden was beautiful! It was an extremely warm day, but they do have water fountains in places that had refreshing cold water. The highlights were the roses and Japanese Gardens. They were so pretty! I would give yourself at least a few hours if you want to the majority of the botanical gardens as it's a good walk. We easily hit 15,000 steps during our visit.

Beautiful views and great way to have some exercise, enjoy the past and present. This place is a magnificent, kept up well over the years and continues to be preserved. I'm so impressed at the gardens and I love the artwork and history behind all the old books and letters of the past. I feel like you really need a few days to come here to really absorb and enjoy everything.Bring snacks n drink, helps to keep you going.

Beautiful gardens, very nicely designed. I recommend buying tickets/making reservations in advance; we did so and there was no wait time. We visited the Chinese and Japanese Gardens, and they were amazing! In particular, the Japanese Garden had a really nice Bonsai tree section that I enjoyed. It was very sunny and hot, though, so if you’re visiting in the summer, hats and sunscreen are a must.

Beautiful gardens. So sad that I didn’t have time to visit all of them. The jungle garden and the Chinese garden are my favorite. The gift shop is in a league of its own. The uniqueness, the diversity of the products, the artistic design of all the products and the way to present them are so much better than the gift shops that I have visited before. This place is amazing! I took my 16 year old daughter and 12 year old son and we all loved it. We were here for 5 hours and could have stayed for many more. Such a huge variety of plants. Very well maintained. We loved the gardens and the museums! Would highly recommend adding this to your list of places to go near LA!!!
