Popped in for dinner after a trip to the docs for a horrible chest infection. The girl behind the bar was friendly and arranged for my daughter and i to have our garlic bread whilst our food was cooking. We both ordered fish and chips and I can honestly say it's the bestfifh and chips I've ever eaten. The fish was beautiful and meaty, full of flavour and not greasy. The chips were also fab!!! Compliments to the chef and to the lovely bar stuff making us feel welcome when I felt miserable . Kid-friendliness: My daughter was greeted and give. Her menu before me, which I liked. She's likes that too as it makes her feel more grown up
First time had to wait 10 minutes at the bar to pay as staff were upstairs. Second visit entered,tried to order a drink, was told to take a seat by a charmless staff member,after 10 minutes a waiter arrived took our drinks order and returned to tell us we had to order at the bar as we only wanted a drink. We won’t be returning for a third time
Cycling stop for coffee and sandwiches. Old building with modern decor. Courtyard at rear accessible with bikes was nice. Best plastic tables and chairs I’ve seen! Smart and nice.
This is a wonderful traditional pub with fantastic food! I would rate the food a perfect 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere also a 5. Highly recommended!

It was very busy (and rightly so), and they seemed a bit understaffed, but the food, drinks, and service were incredible!
