Was lovely when we arrived staff very friendly. Busy but noise level was comfortable even though it was really busy. Had Afternoon Tea which was lovely, only I was a little disappointed I have a Strawberry Allergy My substitutes because of this I was not impressed with as had what tasted like apricot jam with raspberry’s to go with my scones. A Gluten free chocolate cake which tasted awful so did not finish this. My friend who had no allergy’s had a gorgeous presented moist cake with a edible playing card on top as it was Alice in Wonderland theme. Fresh strawberries and strawberry jam. Just a shame that I didn’t have raspberry jam with my raspberry’s and a different cake that was more appea...
We booked The Looking Glass room at The Ivy in Guildford for my 50th birthday celebration, hosting drinks and canapés for 60 guests. Our events manager, Amy, was excellent and always available to help with any aspect of the booking. The room itself was stunning, with its own beautiful bar and washrooms, as well as separate access from Castle Road. On the night, we were looked after by Spencer, Giles, Seraphine, and Yasmin, who provided exceptional attentiveness and professionalism. From the moment guests arrived, they were there to take coats and offer champagne. They were efficient at the bar and engaging with guests, making our experience truly memorable. We couldn't have asked for more.
We have always had a great experience at the Ivy, brilliant food and exceptional service. Sadly today as we celebrated our daughters Uni graduation we were left disappointed with the Service. Long waiting times, food came out for two but two others had to wait. Curry came out but had to wait for plate to put it in. Ordered a soda a lime but were served just a soda and no lime. Service was slack an not attentive as we usually experience. A real disappointment on a special day. Food lovely as usual such a shame the service lacked customer service and a positive hospitality experience.
Fabulous Sunday lunch last weekend for our family of 7, the shepherds pie and apple tart were simply perfect! Our waiter Cal, was awesome....so polite and helpful, good fun, great menu recommendations and kindly took a great family photo for us to remember the meal. He is a credit to the restaurant! The restaurant is a favourite of mine, in fact we had breakfast there earlier in the week to celebrate my birthday. Each and every visit is 10/10 service and food quality, plus great value for money. We had an incredible experience from the moment we arrived at the restaurant. We want to give a special mention to Katy at Guildford who provided exceptional service. The food was superb and the overall experience was fantastic. We had booked a belated 70th birthday lunch and it was a meal that will leave a lasting memory for all three of us. Thank you to the staff for making it such a memorable occasion.
Friendly attentive service. Warm welcome on arrival , given a seat at the bar so they could prep us a table at the window overlooking Castle. The young waiter was friendly and attentive , noting too much trouble. We had the seasonal cocktail which was delicious and served beautifully at the table. I had the lemon sole which was exquisitely cooked. Beautiful surrounding, great service, great food!
5/5. Our weekly trips never let us down and this evening we had the most capable and excellent Scarlett serving us. It was the first time we have had the joy of being attended by her. Her attentive and polite efficiency greatly enhanced our evening. We adore this restaurant and its fantastic Team.

My party was late due to stuck in traffic so sat at the bar to have some drinks whilst I was waiting and received excellent service from Giles one of the bar waiting staff
