Went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and treated ourselves to their summer lobster fest. The lobster tacos were delicious despite the tiny pieces of deep fried lobster meat in them. They also split up the Caesar salad for us, and it too, was very tasty. However, the lobster tail was far too salty to the point we couldn't dunk it in the melted butter and we simply couldn't finish it as it was so salty. Today (april 27th) just so happened to be national prime rib day, so what better way to celebrate than to go to the keg for some prime rib? I decided to get a patio seat which was beautifully arranged, the only downfall is that it is outdoors so we did see a spider crawl on our table. My boyfriend thought it was most appropriate to order the 24 oz prime rib, this is a HUGE piece of meat my friends.. be warned. In fact, its so big that its not even on the menu! He also ordered the baseball steak as well, not like we didnt have enough food HAHHA. The cuts of meat were cooked perfectly to how we asked (rare-med rare) and very tender. We come here at least 2-3x a year, so I figured it was time for an update post!<br/ <br/ This location is located next to the Costco in North Burnaby. There is a big, free parking lot but we still find it hard to find parking, depending on the time of the year or if it’s Mother’s/Father’s day. Prime rib, medium rare, 8 oz: This is my parent’s go-to! Their prime rib is always amaaaazing. It is tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The tuna steak was very small and not that filling. I found it to be a bit dry too. For the portion and price, the steak was definitely the better value and I felt pretty ripped off by this.
The Keg is much like Las Vegas. The more you go, the more you like it, even if you disliked it the first time. Reason being is every single Keg you go to is consistent and you know what you are getting. Good selection, great value and good service. They don't rely on mini skirts either here. They respect their staff and it shows in the service they provide. This time I got the prime rib. Cooked to perfection. Highlight was actually the smoking hot horseradish that came with the dish. The Keg is a place that specializes in steaks. It has little else, but that is just as well because the steaks. Are. Awesome. They are the best steaks I have ever had. And out of all the restaurants I have reviewed, that’s saying a lot.<br/ <br/ You all probably know by now, and it goes without saying, but the prices here are HORRENDOUSLY expensive. You would be well advised to prepare to pay a fortune if you are coming here. Enjoy!
It's Valentine's Day, no reservations so we came in early so the wait is only 30mins. We had the escargot for appetizer and it was very good. Our steaks were cooked perfect, the way we like them medium rare. One of us ordered 1/2 rack ribs which is good but small so if you're hungry, get the full rack. Being the busiest day of February, we had great service we enjoyed our server's good sense of humour. Good job Brad. Cheers.
Had a great dinner!Colin who served us at the Keg in Burnaby BC was one of the best server I have ever had!It was a day we were celebrating our Anniversary so we got a really quiet area.He explained all that was available and gave us time to enjoy our food!
The keg is surprisingly kids friendly. We came here with our toddler for our anniversary. They gave us a vegetable plate for my toddler while he wait for his food. We get to enjoy our food while my son enjoy his. Will come again. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The service and food at this Keg are amazing. My favourites are the Keg caesars and the steak with mushrooms. The steak is always cooked the way I like it.
