Went to the Keg for dinner with my husband last night. This is our favourite place so we were super excited. We reserved a table in the dining room but when the hostess sat us she took us to a table at the bar which...is too noisy for us. We asked to be moved to the dining room, she did accommodate us but mentioned in future we need to say no bar even though we did specifically reserve the dining room, not the bar. When we were seated we were told by the hostess we only have minutes for dinner and somehow tied this to covid? We were fine with it because we usually finish within about that time. The first thing the waitress said when she came over was a reminder its a minute dining experience...
Was seated promptly, given menus and we said we'd need time to look at them. Waiter returned, we placed drinks order as well as food prime, rib med. rare. Said I didn't want red running on plate. He said that some reddish juices are...normal, which is understood. Shortly after, a waitress came by, plunked down our caesar salads and left. saw our waiter and said how we hadn't even gotten our drinks or appetizers yet and wanted to be sure that our meal wasn't going to be rushed with everything coming at once. He offered to take salads away and bring new later (not necessary) and would ensure we weren't rushed. Drinks came, enjoyed appetizers, then salad. Then when main meal came, beef was quit...
A couple months back we went to the Keg and had a disappointing experience. Long story short we spoke with a manager who was very professional and apologetic and gave us a gift card to come back. We went back a couple of weeks ago...and everything was really good. We went again last night and it was exceptional. The service was so great. I believe our waitress' name is Shamir. We've had her a few times over the years and she is exceptional. The food was outstanding. My husband had the prime rib and I swear he could have cut it with a fork it was so tender. I had a steak and it was super flavourful and cooked perfectly. We had appetizers and they were really good too. From start to finish eve...
Worse than terrible. Gift card did not work in restaurant. Given business card for head office. No receipt anymore due to covid and could not retrieve one as paid by cash. Worked really hard to fix it and they did not care. Head office refused to help in any...way. Brutal. On top of this meal I had to pay for was terrible- everything was horribly salty. Will never go to the Keg ever again.

Keg food seems to be consistent wherever you go. Last night my wife had her regular oz. prime rib which she loves and was not disappointed. I went out of the box and ordered a oz. baseball steak medium rare. Very tasty and...cooked to perfection even though I usually like my steak medium. We ordered a lobster gratinee as an appetizer which was a take off from escargot. Delicious.
Great service and I was impressed when they asked for vaccination proof! Good food, great service, a little pricy but worth it. Keep up the great job!
The food is tasty every time I've been, my problem lies with the price, can't believe how much it is considering how little you get.
