The hotel/restaurant is located in a picturesque rural area, right next to a 14th-century thatched roof church. We went for a special birthday meal, the staff were really friendly and attentive. It wasn't mega busy when we went, so the food came out really quickly. I had the pigeon to start and the red deer for the entrée. Both were cooked perfectly, all the food was ambrosial and looked stunning. As we were there for a birthday and mentioned this on booking, a happy birthday plate with a few petit fours was given with no extra fee. I decided to stop by for a drink and was pleasantly surprised to receive a warm and friendly welcome from all the staff. I will definitely be returning to try their food, as the other diners seemed to really be enjoying it.
