We ate in the cafe part of the restaurant which we were happy to do as there seemed to be quite a few Christmas Parties in the main room. It's a very pretty place and I could not fault the young woman who served us. Polite and helpful. However the food was average. I had the cod croquettes which were ok but not magnificent and could have done with more sauce. My partner and guest had the cauliflower which again could have done with more sauce and there was a lot of it. Our other guest had the duck donut which he said was delicious. Visited last night. Overall it was a good experience but there was only one option for a vegetarian main dish. Being a veggie I had to choose the one option on the menu. Generally the flavours were good but it was weirdly covered in pomegranate seeds which I hate and therefore ruined the meal.Possibly a good choice of restaurant for meat eaters but if you are vegetarian I would recommend you choose somewhere else that offers a respectful choice of meals other than one overpriced dish with dry rice and a random scattering of rock hard pomegranate seeds.
Went with a group of work colleagues for a retirement do and had pre-ordered the vegetarian options. The Cauliflower Pakora starter was great but the main Grilled Squash was very disappointing. That was all there was to it; no bed of cous cous or rice, or even chips! I ended up still hungry after the meal and having to steal chips from my colleagues plates.
Although the service from the kitchen was slow, we understand and appreciate the challenges that the hospitality industry is facing so we still left a tip. We came for lunch with our 5 month old and the service and food was amazing. Great value too. Lots of choice on the menu, we enjoyed everything we ordered. Nice atmosphere too in the restaurant. We will be coming back for sure.
The food and service at this restaurant are exceptional, and the spacious venue is a great bonus. Perfect for a family gathering in the lovely city of Norwich.
