Asked my friend where to eat near MSP, and the places he named weren 't all that near. So finally I gave him a few choices and Nook was #1 in both our books. First off, service was fairly frequent and friendly. Water kept flowing. Food felt like it was delayed a bit but not as bad as the mad crush of people on a Saturday night would have suggested. There also appeared to be a bit of a waiting crowd when we walked in, but the front staff suggested we look downstairs and sure enough, we found a table open. That was a great place! That was perfect. Had a guys night out with my family and they wanted dive bar food beer, burgers, and wings. I had been to The Nook before late nite, and it really hit the spot, but was it as good as I remembered? YES, in fact better as not only were the burger and fries delicious but the wings and hot dogs as well! Ambiance: vintage, establishment, dive type feel, crowded and lively both times I went. This is a super fun bar! Now, I don 't drink, so maybe that disqualifies me from being the authority on a super fun bar , but I eat, and I do trivia, and I bowl, and this is the funnest place I 've been to for all that stuff! The first time I came here, years ago, before I was as diligent a Yelper as I am now, I thought this was the best place for Juicy Lucys Stuffed Burgers on their menu). Ok folks here goes. This was the best hamburger I have ever had. I had the number 7 (Joe mauers new favorite) and I didn't want it to end My initial disappointment that there were no mixed drinks available was quickly thwarted by the eating experience! I never even LIKED cheese curds till this day. They are cooked with bacon and as I type this I want to go down and get some more. The nook is the best burger place in the twin cities, hands down. The vibes, the food, the service are all top notch. Whoever the original jucy lucy was doesn't matter, because they make the best one! I get the Paul molitar jucy everytime and it is always fantastic. The fries are perfect (paired with the house made ranch! and the cheese curds are done the right way beer battered. For an extra experience, get the nook curds with honey and bacon. First time in this place (2/5/24) Been wanting to come here for years ever since I saw it on the Food Network Diners Drive-Ins and Dives!! I had the juicy Nookie their version of the Juicy Lucy it was very very good delicious I would recommend you to try that burger or any of their other burgers on the menu awesome service by everybody here! And love the ambiance with everything on the walls! Even Guy Fieri picture on the wall!! I would come here again and again!!
Great spot for a Juicy Lucy! The Dive Bar setting was unexpected. There is a top and bottom level with a bowling alley downstairs. Ordered: Nookie Burger 4.5/5): Terrific! There was so much cheese oozing out but it really complemented with the dense patty. The server warned us to not eat right away since it can hot so be careful Overall this is a must try spot. The Nook is a top-tier dive bar. A quaint, hole-in-the-wall that serves award-winning burgers. I had the purple and gold burger, and although they are award-winning, I was still pleasantly surprised at the quality. Don't even get me started on the fries. Hand-cut and perfectly seasoned. The Nook Went here late night for a juicy Lucy and some fries! It was quite good. The burger we had #7) was good for the patty, but the toppings we had were pretty low quality. The fries and curds were all decent but nothing out of this world. The vibes and atmosphere were 10/10 super classic and old school.
