The fourth set of owners have taken over the Lion and taken the business to new lows.They took over in August and did not clean the carpet or furniture which had several years of accumulated dirt and grease embedded in the cloth and carpet.In October which was our last visit ever we were presented with temporary menus which were now 3 months old. The menu reflected the old menu from the previous owner. Boring. Doug and Maria took over the Lion of Stouffville mid-August 2016 and they have made so many changes, new chefs, new waiters, new bar with bar stools, new beer taps and beer selection, they also changed the old person who ran the karaoke night.Christina she is amazing. I have dined at the Lion of Stouffville for the past four years and have found the food outstanding. The master chef, who was hired by the previous owner is top notch! There has been a change of ownership in mid 2016 and the establishment has been given a face lift with new exciting menu items and a major selection of imported and ;local craft beers and wines.I had the pleasure of dining at the Lion on New Year's Eve 2016 and I state without equivocation that the prime rib dinner was one of the best I've ever experienced. We decided to have a family 13th birthday party at The Lion, due to the new signs that say "new ownership". The new owners are quite nice as they tried to accommodate what was needed. Upon arrival, it was nowhere near what we thought it was going to be. We were a part of about 25. The setup what just disastrous. There was one long table in the centre, and then tables split up all over the place. You could barely walk in and out to get food without hurting yourself. I would also like to comment on the fact that the food was half decent at best. A few items were cold, and there were not many buffet options at all. It was a horrible way to set up the buffet. My friends and I have visited The Lion in Stouffville several times.I have found the staff courteous, knowledgeable and prompt.I have recently enjoyed dinner in the Dining Room section ......I had the beef prime rib dinner .......It was excellent .....cook exactly the way I ordered. My friend and I have enjoyed evenings in the bar section ....with great staff service. I found the whole place including the washrooms clean... Congratulations to the new owners. who are carrying on the tradition of a good establishment . Well done
Recently checked out the Lion's weekend brunch buffet. There was a good variety of breakfast type foods and lots to be had. Everything is replenished frequently and all is hot enough. I would have liked to see more variety in the fresh fruit, and was a bit surprised to see canned pineapple. Also not a fan of the chickpeas in tomato sauce, the texture of the chickpeas was not great, and the dish seemed an odd choice. But overall, it's worth checking out.
The food was terrible, out of the 5 of us one meal was not to bad . Surf and turf was sickening. There was no working soap despenser in the bathroom . There must be another new chef ?. Don't waste your money unless you are going to have drinks . The drinks where great . Hard to screw up a drink from a keg or bottle . Our bill was around $260.00 . We would have a better meal at McDonald's for around $28.00.
I attended for a quick lunch and left satisfied with a full stomach. I had the Caesar wrap with fries. The menu said it was $12, but the "special" board said it was $13.50. I was charged $13.50. The fries were a large serving and were ok. The wrap was good enough that I'd order it again. I would return again if in town.

My husband I go to play darts at the Lion in Stouffville regularly.We just met the new owners who have a new chef and recommended the banquet burger.It was Amazing!! Here is a picture of the burger!
The Lion is a really nice pub. There is a pool table, darts and karaoke on Friday nights. The prices are very reasonable and the service is absolutely outstanding.
