Just got home after an evening with family and friends at this restaurant. We’d been recommended this place by friends and this was our first visit and it certainly won’t be our last. We were warmly greeted and immediately felt comfortable, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the restaurant was beautifully clean. The service was incredibly friendly and accommodating (we had my sister’s baby grandson with us) and nothing was too much trouble. Enough about the place let’s talk food... Incredible is probably the best word, there were a few of us who all eat Indian fairly regularly and we all agreed that this was some of the best food we’d ever had. First time we have been to the Lion, but it won’t be the last. We have 3 other Indians we would normally choose from but had a quick look at trip advisor and we are glad we did. We had chicken tikka, chicken shishlak and salmon tikka for starters all of which were generous portions and very tasty and more to the point very succulent. Mains were chicken tikka, lamb madras, a prawn dish and lamb biryani and again all were very good. Mine was the biryani and I think it was the best I have ever had. Would definitely recommend and will be going again. Good value for money and service was quick and attentive.
Short and sweet review. The food was good when it opened, now the sauces are watery and thinned within an inch of its life. Keema bread had only half full with meat. Poppadoms had dips, but they were just tasteless, mango sauce had no mango chunks, just a poor effort. I won’t even use this place again, the outside appearance represents the quality of the food. Run down and crumbling. We are trying Pickles next time, as even Akbars is heading the watery way.
Myself and my wife ate here while my daughter attended a concert at the arena. The food was unbelievably good, plentiful and spiced just right. The lime pickle is the best ive ever tried, as was the lamb saag. I couldn't fault anything at all. My wife said hers was fantastic too. The staff are really friendly and attentive, in all its a definite must.

Would usually only eat out here when with all the family. We have takeout from here as the food is fabulous. For a change decided to eat in the restaurant. Lovely, clean, warm surroundings. Staff always pleasant, very hospitable! Had the lam and garlic karahi mmm mmm mmm mmmmmmm delicious!
Let me start buy saying i have eaten in every curry house in Coventry...this curry was faultless ...service by George was excellent could not fault anything food sevice price all spot on
Omg the best Indian food I have ever tasted. If I could eat here ever night I would be a happy girl. The staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble.
A wonderful Curry my wife said the best she has ever had! Good beer. I can’t understand why it was so quiet on a Saturday night
