I dined at Locavore on a Saturday night as part of a party of four. Before dining in this restaurant I was very excited to be dining in an establishment that prides itself on using local produce only, sourced within 100 miles. I was hoping for delicious food and wine as well as amazing service. Upon arrival, we were very warmly welcomed by the restaurant sommelier who invited us to the bar, as we were early to our reservation. Beautiful seasonal food, super fun and personalised experience. Excellent relaxed and continual service. These guys were the most fun and skilful vino navigators I think I've experienced. They know the wine makers, the location of the vineyards, and they probably know the altitude of each bottle of wine. Tip. Tell them how much you want to eat and drink,,,, and let them order for you. There's no way I could have picked a better journey of wine from the adelaide hills. They were excellent. Oh dear! New owners and I've visited three times to try to be fair and let them ease in. First two visits not overwhelming. But today everything seemed parsimonious. House sauvignon blanc up to its usual good standard but accompanied by thin tomato soup with 1 piece of bread. The rhubarb and pear crumble was really good but the very small scoop of thick cream served separately inadequate. The flat white coffee was indescribable and undrinkable. Staff (owner? very polite and service quick. Tables now bare cafe style. Weekly visits definitely ending despite wonderful location and outlook it is farewell Locavore!
My partner and I were looking for a place to have dinner in the Adelaide Hills and I came across Locavore on Zomato. After being easily convinced by the reviews I read I rang and was able to score a last minute booking. A cute little restaurant in Stirling producing some good vibes. My partner ordered the carnivore gnocchi and I ordered the chicken special. Both meals were beyond amazing, especially my partners! beautiful, knowledgeable staff and great ethos: everything was created in a 100 miles radius. but my meal was a little hit and miss. my plastered ling was partly boiled for perfection and partly boiled and dry; the accompanying roasted cauliflower was partially boiled and partly boiled and had not decided whether it wanted to be warm or cold; my dessert had wonderful baked, but it was essentially only filled with pickled rhabarb. I love stuffed rhubarb and I would eat here again definitatiw, but hope for more consistency in cooking:
great food. I had loca burger for the head office. the bark patty is firm, it doesn't fall apart when we eat it. the hate is roasted and brings crispy sensation. as for the gloomy I had apple pie, it was **** delicious, damn good. the best apple cake I had so far. it served in a small bowl as they baked it, like a zuppa suppe. apple cake on the bottom and covered with baked then baked. I will definitely come back to try other menu
Locavore has some of the best gnocchi I have eaten in the Adelaide Hills. The light pillows melted away in my mouth. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. As well as amazing gnocchi their extensive wine selection has something for everyone's palate.
This was a great little place for a quiet lunch. The service was attentive and friendly. The soup I ordered was light and tasty and the brownie was rich, but not overwhelmingly sweet. I would definitely be interested in returning here for dinner one day. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
a beautiful small place in the hills with an extensive wine and beer list. a small selection of daily netzens. Unfortunately I wasn't very hungry after a late breakfast, so just had a escape and some pages, but my companion went the net!
