This is my 4th time at this cafe. The first 2 times were in the early part of 2015 and the food and service were great. I recently purchased 3 groupons thinking of the great food and value I had earlier. Since then however the chef or chefs have changed. I ordered a steak which would be one of the worst I can recall. Very sinewy and ended up complaining to the waiter. I rarely do this even if disappointed with a meal but felt compelled as the quality was so bad. He reported it to the chef. They advised that it was just one of those things and it was a poor cut of meat. I was offered another steak but I was loathe to accept. To me as a bbq man I can tell the difference in a good and bad steak...
I came here for lunch with a large group of friends. We had made a reservation so they knew we were coming. Unfortunately the service was really really slow (although very friendly) and meal sizes ranged from minuscule (salt & pepper calamari) to over the top gigantic (chicken parmigiana)! Some ingredients were missing from menu items (the warm chicken salad had no kale or Brussels sprouts) and some wines from the list we're unavailable. The Local has so much potential. A great location with a gorgeous fit-out. The menu is basic but covers a lot of options at a reasonable price. I'd like to try it again with a smaller group and see if they can improve. Visited with my partner and children for dinner. The food was excellent and the venue is great. Meals were very slow in arriving due to a function upstairs, we were given free dessert which was a huge delicious cannoli. Keeping an eye on customers drinks would also be my tip. Will go again.
We went with a Scoopon Voucher and enjoyed our deal very much. The food was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. The MKR beauty Lee Chan cooked up a cooking storm with an evening of divine food and spices. The service was great the atmosphere superb and the evening packed with divine food and tips to creating heaven on a plate. New friends new spices and a fabulous evening.
We have been a few times here for a dinner and never disappointed. I like the atmosphere and design of this place, which makes you feel relaxed.Regarding food, I couldn't fault anything! We liked the steak, burger as well as fish&chips.We will be back!
Fantastic place for dinner and drinks! Had my nieces birthday dinner and there was something on the menu for everyone, including the vegetarian birthday girl! Fantastic and welcoming staff and great prices! We will definitely be back!
