My friend and I had to meet the Martinsville Tavern on our list of places for months. We finally came by a few weekends and are so glad that we made it! They had opened some extra outdoor seating this day and we were lucky to secure a table. Our expectations for dinner were not too high, but we were quickly proved wrong as soon as our dishes arrived. We ordered Spinat Artichoke Dip, Chicken Francese and the boss? All were phenomenal. It was found that the spinach dimmer was made in the house and was not only heated again. The chicken was perfectly boiled and came with percussion potatoes that were amazing. My friend also loved the pork chops. Servers were friendly and I felt very safe to eat...
I absolutely love this place! Great place to go for dinner. It gets crowded, make a reservation. It's a small place so it gets kind of loud when it's crowded but sometimes they have a musician, which offsets the volume. I enjoyed the guitarist very much. The food is EXCELLENT. I have tried multiple appetizers and dishes (definitely try the Mussels), everything is delicious. The price point is reasonable for the quality. If you are in the area, try it. It won't disappoint.
When I was in Martinsville, I kept a quick dinner at one of my favorite spots. Brian offers excellent service and recommended Hanger Steak with spinach and potato wedge. Every food I had here was wonderful, but that was one of the best meals I had in a long time. Even the atmosphere is always great, even though I rarely know the regular, they always make me like one.
I fought for a work lunch here. The staff was friendly, food was exceptional and drinks were well balanced. They have built a veranda that offers an outdoor view, along with outdoor seating, restaurant seats and a bar atmosphere. Ideal for work lunches, anniversaries or just an everyday event.
