After doing some research on where to eat gluten-free in Rochdale, we decided to try out Medicine Tap based on a recommendation from the helpful man at Touchstones. Initially, it seemed like only the fries and steak were gluten-free options, but after asking, we learned they could also make gluten-free pizza using special dough. The meal was excellent for both gluten-free and non-gluten-free eaters in our family, with delicious flavors and quick, friendly service. The staff was accommodating and we enjoyed the music as well. The Medicine Tap Rochdale The old Post Office building, converted into a large bistro pub in 2018. A cross between the Wetherspoon’s and Hogarths pubs right beside it, giving the rown centre a lack of drinking diversity at its core. The beer range looks great and the food menu is impressive, though menus are presented on big heavy stiff glossy cards that even the waitresses struggled to move around without knocking into stuff. Service was slow, with staff baffled by the electric tills, and they tend to have reserved tables unlabeled reserved so they have to politely and apologetically ask customers to move around just as customers get comfortable. Family friendly.
I visited the restaurant today and enjoyed excellent food with good, pleasant service in a quality venue. Although it is quite expensive, the high prices are justified by the quality of the experience. I definitely recommend this restaurant, but the only downside is that there is no nearby parking due to the renovation of the town hall and surrounding area.
Absolutely wonderful bar undoubtedly the pride of Rochdale. Really good selection of beers, friendly, knowledgeable bar staff and a great crowd. Plenty of space to sit and chat, a great menu and while I can’t speak for the ladies, the gents bathrooms are a surprisingly innovative. We were served by Niamh, who was friendly and courteous and did everything to make us welcome including indulging my friend’s request to serve her vodka in a ‘gin style fishbowl’. Steak sandwich and chips was huge. Tasty peppercorn sauce. A bit on the expensive side, but two of us shared. Good value wine list.
Myself and some friends tried the free flow Friday deal. This comprises of a mains, free flow cocktails and drinks. We had a generous and tasty meal, pornstar Martinis, cherry sours, coffee martini and prosecco. The ladies serving us were attentive and friendly. The deal was well worth the £34.95. Thankyou
Sad tale of this place we had our last Christmas dinner and it was so lovely the sad tale is its no longer open they had to close it due to recent footfall Due to town hall renovation sorry its closed I was about to rebook it all the best to future endeavours
