we have made a reservation on open table, and after 15 minutes in rain to walk to the restaurant, it was closed and had a sign that everything was taken due to a tax problem. it was closed and there was no other explanation. very disappointing. not sure what opentable can do about it naturally, but it seemed to be closed for a dae. it would be nice if there were any possibility to check the restaurant were still open when bookings are made.
The food was excellent! They had good Belgian-style dishes and a great beer selection! It was very busy there the night we attended. We could tell that most of the clientele were attending the same concert that we were attending, so things were a bit rushed, crowded, and hectic. We plan on going back again at an off time in order to take our time and truly enjoy the food and drink at the Merry Monk. We hope it will be worth the second look.
A fantastic dining choice in downtown Albany! They offer an impressive selection of craft beers and delicious mussels prepared with six different sauces. Our waiter Ben was outstanding, and the entire staff was attentive and accommodating to our needs. I highly recommend this place!
The Merry Monk has closed due to non-payment of fees. It's unfortunate because I really liked the Merry Monk, but open tables should be kept separate from it unless it reopens. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We thoroughly enjoyed the Brussels sprouts appetizer. The beer selection is fantastic. The cod entree was excellent as well.
Very pleasant waitress (Alisha) and really good food. Wednesdays there's a special on mussels that you won't want to miss!
Always excellent food at reasonable prices with a great atmosphere. Beer selection is great if you like craft beers!
