Had a good night here with my partner just before watching the late night movie. The service was good even if we didn't have a booking and it was fairly busy. We ordered 3 of the specials as we weren't that hungry. The food came out in good time and we were impressed with the presentation and most of all the taste and textures were excellent with each dish. Definitely will come back again and try more of the variety they offer. This is not your standard Japanese, please look at the menu before coming so you know what to expect. Definitely worth coming as the price is also pretty fair.
After a full day of seeing the sights in Fremantle, this is a great place if you like a dinner where there are options of something not fried/grilled.We are big fans of sashimi, sushi and salmon, and were very impressed with the freshness and quality of the dishes we ordered. A warm bowl of the simple miso soup, which was full of body and flavor, was very welcoming on a chilly autumn evening.The service staff were very friendly and attentive but not intrusive, which also took the dining experience up a notch.Would love to go back again to try other dishes in the extensive menu.
This was mine and my partners first experience here and it most definitely won't be the last! The food was the best Japanese I have tasted, the sushi and sashimi was mouth watering, fresh and clean! My partner is not big of sashimi but said this sashimi changed that and she would only eat it here.The service from all was outstanding, you could not beat it! They were there to serve and answer any questions and made us feel really special on our night out! This restaurant and eatery gets 10/10 from me and my partner for cleanliness, service and food!
In the past I have had positive experiences here, when dining with me father. We are often regular patrons of this small restaurant. I took my beau here upon hearing some sad news and we had hoped to receive the same stellar service but, alas, it was a different story. I enjoyed the sake but we were both bitterly disappointed with the food service. I'd like to give Modern Kitchen another chance, but I must say, I'm not sure anymore.

I have usually had great service and good food here, when I have dined with my father, however today, Mr K and I were sorely disappointed. We were prepared to enjoy a pleasant lunch, however the Canadian waiter was so annoying and incompetent that we left after just one sake. The sake itself was great, however the service was such a let down. I doubt I'll be back any time soon.
Love this place. The food is delicious and so fresh. The staff are attentive but not over the top. The space is intimate. Sit at the counter to watch the chefs make the sushi. Book because it's small, in saying that we don't always book and they always sit us.
Great sushi, very fresh, amazingly delicious, best aburi sashimi! Went about 5 times with my husband and with my family, everytime someone coming to visit us in Perth it is a must vist! Great value of money for the quality they delivery. Yummy!!!!
Devant l'information center de Fremantle, un super sushi bar inventif sympa . Tout pour passer un bon moment. Le plus est la façon "Aburi " du nom du restaurant leger flammage du poisson qui exhauste le goût.Excellent.
