I have had a few meals at The Nightingale and can honestly say the food in of very good quality. This was the first time i had booked for a family meal on a Sunday at 7pm and was disappointed that quite a lot of the menu was sold out once we had arrived. I suppose it is understandable as it was a lovely sunny day so a lot of people probably went for lunch time, but as I had booked for a large group in advance it was a little problematic trying to work out what was left on the menu that we could have. I wouldn't recommend dining on a Sunday evening but I would go back on a different day or at a different time in future.
We choose The Nightingale because it was halfway between destinations and it meant both parties wouldn't have too longer journey home. What a pleasant surprise, not only did we have a very welcoming entrance by the staff but the place is very welcoming and has a lovely open fire! The meal was excellent, very well presented, nice and hot when it came to you. Menu Choice was excellent. The Young lady we had serving us was wonderful nothing was too much trouble, bless her. She was excellent. We defiantly will be back. Thank you all so much for a wonderful Sunday lunch we had with our family. You made it very special.
We booked as a family group, originally for 6 but we turned up with 7 people which was no problem at all for the Nightingale, they accommodated our extra guest with no fuss. The food was great and service outstanding, one of our party was vegan, and there was a decent menu for him. We were all happy with our meals. Highly recommended, I would definitely go there again.
Booked for Sunday evening 7pm hoping to enjoy one of the 3 types of roasts advertised on Sunday menu but on being seated we're told all sold out! Apparently this happened minutes before we arrived as we would have been contacted to be made aware.... I think not! We did decide at this point to leave and eat elsewhere so unable to comment on other food choices.

Had a lovely roast dinner l had the beef my husband has pork belly ,it nice finding somewhere that does roast all day . Will go again have already told friends about the Nightingale .
Lovely country pub with open fire, a great place for a get together with friends, food was excellent and staff very attentive. Thankyou all
My second visit there really good, tasty food generous portions. Lovely ambience and plenty of space, easy to find and plenty of parking
Nice pub. Good food and fabulous Shiraz. Great service and not too badly priced. Definitely return when in the area.

Booked late . Plenty of room. Everything you would expect from a good pub,but pudding slightly disappointing .
