I had a fantastic vegetarian Sunday roast at this restaurant. The landlady, Margaret, and the cook, Dave, ensure that you feel welcome and are well taken care of. They even provide a special roast for dogs, which they seemed to really enjoy. The atmosphere can get quite loud, especially when the local football team comes in after their game, so it's best to arrive early or late if noise bothers you. Vegetarian options include a delicious cheese and spinach tart. Parking is convenient, with two lots available - one by the pub and another in front of the train station.
Great pub, I'd never been here before today. It's got a great atmosphere and the bar staff, Jade and Julia, were very friendly and really looked after us with attentive Covid-Safe table-service. Felt like a proper Local, with chatty staff and punters and it's dog-friendly too. I hear they do a great Sunday Roast I think I'll have to book myself in for one with a few pints. If you haven't been here before then be sure to pop in for a pint or two.
When we arrived at the pub, there were three great beers available. However, within an hour and a half, all the beer was gone! It was a busy Saturday night, and while I initially thought they were just changing the keg, it turned out that there was no beer left in the cellar either. Quite bizarre! In terms of food, I would rate it a 1, but the service and atmosphere were both excellent with a rating of 5.
I am thrilled that The Old Ford is once again serving excellent food, with the added bonus of vegetarian options available. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and there are always events happening in the evenings. Be sure to check their page for more information. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome here. The price per person is typically between £10-20. Overall, I would rate the food as a 5 out of 5.
A very welcoming neighborhood pub with a great atmosphere and live music. The staff is friendly and there is always someone to chat and have a laugh with. The pub has a spacious outdoor area with plenty of covered seating. I would highly recommend this pub for those looking for a traditional British drinking establishment. Kudos to Julia and her team for running a well-kept establishment.
the old ford is an absolute dive! rude land lady and staff, absolutely no covid restrictions and safety in place for either staff or customers. ordered my substantial meal and had dog hairs inside, to which the land lady laughed off! would not be going back in the future and would not advice anyone to visit.
What a lovely pub . Nice to see that they are taking covid seriously , the staff are very helpful and explain the rules in detail , and the food is made with care and attention. definitely going tell my friends all about it. ?
