Having to make a reservation before coming here is a good sign! We enjoyed brunch at this restaurant yesterday. I've been told for years that eggs benedict can be a tricky dish to get right, but the ones we had here were served piping hot and tasted fantastic without any issues. Today, we stopped by after a long walk and indulged in a cream tea with a unique jam selection. The owners are knowledgeable about local ingredients and were very friendly and welcoming. We had a great experience and want to thank them for the delicious food and pleasant atmosphere. They are true superstars!
We stopped off at The Forge Caffe this morning and we were glad we did! From start to finish the service and the food was brilliant. We all had 3 of the main breakfast’s and hot drinks to accompany it all. Food was cooked superbly and tasted amazing. And to finish it my cousin and friend arranged for a little birthday treat Chocolate Orange muffin) to be brought over with a nicely sang Happy Birthday rendition! Fully recommend if you are in the area , you won’t be disappointed.
A welcome sanctuary on a warm and busy day in Chagford. The café is a small, charming space with a modern but classic tea room atmosphere. The cream tea was excellent, fresh homemade scones served warm with delicious whortleberry jam and plenty of refreshing proper leaf tea. We also purchased some of the home made cakes to takeaway which were delicious!! Would highly recommend if visiting the village.
We went in for a coffee and breakfast. Staff were lovely, the menu looked good,and we had a bacon bap and sausage bap. The baps were excellent, quality ingredients cooked well, and the coffee was great also. Very clean and nicely decorated restaurant/cafe in a beautiful market town. 3 coffees and 2 baps £18. Dropped in on the way back to our air bnb for a quick lunch and both myself and partner were amazed at how great the food was here! We couldn’t help but order an extra scone for the road. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Next time we are in the area the Old Forge will be a must on our to do list.
It had been a year since we last visited this restaurant, but we were not disappointed. We tried two different dishes from the lunch menu - potatoes with spring onions, blue cheese, and bacon - and they were superb. The hot chocolate was actually hot, which was fantastic.
From the warm welcome to the amazing quick service provided by the friendly lady who served us, the Welsh Rarebit was exceptionally delicious! We were delighted to have found this gem of a restaurant and we are grateful for the stellar service and hospitality. Thank you!
Cannot recommended more highly very welcoming and friendly service, fantastic food and the best cream tea that we’ve had in Devon!! Our only regret is that we didn’t find this gem sooner during our holiday!! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Lovely Tea Room offering great selection of food; including Devonshire Cream Tea which is what we had and didn't regret it! Very nicely presented and received a very warm welcome and great service.
