"A traditional pub overlooking amazing views of the Broadwater Lake Nature Reserve. It is a hidden gem of a place, you wouldn't know it is there as it's set back from the main road. We have been here many times as staff and menu never disappoint. The menu has a range of choices, including gluten-free and vegan options too. I had the gluten free chicken pie and my friend had the vegan Shepard's pie.... delicious! We went for a pleasant walk afterwards, along the Harefield Locks."

Whilst the pub food and general ambience of the restaurant was very good and a beer garden with a view to rival the best in the land , the service speed was extremely slow considering the amount of staff they have working. One glance on trip advisor and you can see this place is living off it's reputation of 5 years ago. It's certainly a shadow of it's former self since I visited 6 years ago. Some of the staff were just chatting and laughing at the bar whilst we were waiting 20 minutes for drinks in the restaurant area next to the bar so I just ended up going to the bar and ordering myself because it was quicker. The waiters were extremely friendly so it may be that they are poorly organised...
