Ate lunch at George's Pizza Restaurant with a friend last weekend. Was my 1st time eating at this establishment, but my friend lives in the area and has eaten there many times (my wife had also eaten at George's in the past). Owners and staff were very friendly welcoming when we entered. I ordered a meatball grinder, and my friend had a turkey club sandwich with fries. We also shared a potato skins appetizer. Everything hit the spot, food was very good. It's often hard to find a decent meatball when dining out, but I was liking how George's prepared theirs. Here's my advice: go on a nice day and sit on the patio! What a lovely little spot. Very unassuming and comfortable. We found this spot after biking and rollerblading on the Farmington Linear Trail and it was perfect. Our server was attentive, kind, and fun. The food was absolutely delicious and really ample portions. And the Corona Lights were ice cold! My husband got the greek salad and asked if they could top it with tuna. We love George's. It's such a staple in Unionville you can easily overlook it but it shouldn't be taken for granted. Day in day out, they produce the classic Italian/Greek/American place that delivers great food each and every time. My most recent visit. on. Monday! shows why. Good service? Yep. My family, a group of eight, was searching for a place to eat late after an event, and the only option open past 9 PM in the area was George's. Overall, we enjoyed delicious food served in generous portions. We tried a variety of items from the menu, including pizza, stuffed peppers, a Mediterranean platter, and meatball parmigiana, among others. While it's true that in Connecticut you could probably find better pizza and Italian food elsewhere, our experience at George's was still very enjoyable! Been here a handful of times now, and the service can be good or mediocre. Quick or slow, but overall it 's been good for when I 've gone. Staff is all pleasant. Food portions are large. Too large. Pizza by default is Greek-style, but they offer NY style as well but you have to specifically ask for it. Can sometimes be a bit on the greasy side, but it isn 't bad.
We quickly had a table on a Friday night. Service was excellent, with appetizer and drinks brought quickly. We got the Mediterranean platter, which had 2 kinds of hummus, tzatziki and baba ganoush. We got a pizza which was very good with huge slices. It has a nice family atmosphere, but also tables are intimate enough for a date night. We'll definitely be back!
Wow, the cheeseburger pizza is incredible! It's honestly the best pizza I've ever had, and I usually don't even care for pizza. I'm also grateful that they accepted a late order; I really appreciate them staying open late and being so kind when I went in to pick it up.

Good pizza and nice to have a spot like this down the road. Jalapeño poppers were ice cold, but other than that the food and drinks were good. Will be back
